I just discovered Mindscapes: A Psion's Guide (http://www.rpgnow.com/product_info.php?products_id=533&it=1) while getting a free download from rpgnow.com. Have you guys heard of it before? Is it any good?

It seems to have been made by the same publisher who created Hyperconscious, so I am already interested in it. However, I would rather start reading some psionics books which weren't written by Bruce R. Cordell.

It's basically the 3.0 version of the rules in Hyperconscious.

It's a great book, but it's 3.0 psionics.

I see. Thanks for the information.

I am guessing If Thoughts Could Kill (http://www.montecook.com/mpress_TCK.html) and Beasts of the Id (http://www.montecook.com/mpress_Mind.html) also have the same problem?

However, I did find some "upgrades" to 3.5 for these books on Malhavoc Press' website:

http://www.montecook.com/mpress_patches003.html

They are $4.00 each. Does these updates make them worth the price? Or is the material still pretty outdated?

It's just the exact same content that was reprinted in Hyperconcious. If you buy Hyperconcious, you get all of that exact same content and more.

If Thoughts Could Kill is not the same adventure as is in Hyperconscious.

oh, right. I forgot If Thoughts Could Kill was an adventure. However, the mechanical content within has been upgraded.
The 160-page version of Hyperconscious also updates all the psionics source material from Bruce's EN-World Award-winning If Thoughts Could Kill and Mindscapes, making this volume essential for v. 3.5 psionics players!

For more details about Hyperconcious, see its product page (http://www.montecook.com/cgi-bin/page.cgi?mpress_Hyper).
