| Mooncalf04-04-07, 09:48 PM | The rules dictate that when you split a mindblade into two (in order to use two-weapon fighting) the enhancement drops by one. Some races, such as the Thri-Kreen (from the XPH) has more than two hands. If a Thri-Kreen Soulknife decides to split it into four, one for each hand, what effect would it have on the blade? Would the enchantment drop more than one, or would that be too much? Would the size decrease (at the point, you can either have a longsword or two shortswords; maybe splitting it again would give you four daggers?) Any thoughts? |

MULTI-MIND BLADE [Psionic] You can split you mind blade into multiple parts. Prerequisites: Split Mind Blade, Multiweapon Fighting, Dex 13, three or more hands Benefit: You can split your mind blade into more parts, but the penalty increases. If you split you mind blade into 3 or 4 parts it receives another cumulative -1 penalty. If you split it into 5 or 6 parts it receives another cumulative -1 penalty. If these penalties would reduce your mind blades enhancement to less than 0, then you take the remainder on all you attack and damage rolls as a penalty and you lose any enchantments to your mind blade as long as these penalties reduce the enhancement to below 1. |
| Zodiaq704-05-07, 03:40 PM | I'd keep two hands on a thri-kreen open to get a grapple going, free draw two mindblades, and go for the kill while they try in vain to escape. |
| SlanderPanic04-05-07, 05:22 PM | I always keep at least one hand free on my thri-kreen for Deflect Arrows. It's very nice to be able to cancel out one missile attack a round. Of course, with Free Draw, you could just drop your mind blade from that hand at the end of your turn and materialize a new one next turn. |
