| taylors00504-30-08, 03:23 PM | i just realized something that amused me quite a bit. if your dm is completely ignorant to psionics you psicrystal could take hidden talent and psicrystal affinity for feats..... maybe get its own elemental envoy and a cult following to. but really i just want to make sure that your crystals hit dice are based on your manifesting levels not your character level |
| InkBlot04-30-08, 05:11 PM | It's based on neither. Your psicrystals hit dice (and other benefits) are determined by the sum of all your levels in psionic classes. For example, a half-orc with 4 levels of Psychic Warrior, 8 levels of Soulknife, 1 level of Barbarian, and 2 levels of War Mind, and Psicrystal Affinity would have a psicrystal with 14 hit dice. That half-orc would also have a psywar manifester level of 4, and a warmind manifester level of 2. P.S.; Abusing your DM's ignorance is a very bad idea. It will just get psionics banned, and probably also get you kicked out of his/her game. |

On a related note, tricking your DM is never a good idea, and in this context would give psionics a bad name. We saw this a lot when people hadn't learned the manifester level cap rules. |

Not that I condone such activity, but if you are going to abuse their ignorance at least do something awesome with it. Vampiric Lycanthropic Half Dragon Illithid! :D (or hell, even if he knows how LA works, play it if he'll let you. You may never level up, but you'll never need to.) |

| InkBlot05-02-08, 02:16 PM | Were-bear. So he's technically lawful-good. |
| RPJesus05-02-08, 03:59 PM | Well, I meant werewolf, but whatever. The point being getting a LA of about 50 :D |
| Tempest Stormwind05-02-08, 10:06 PM | Well, I meant werewolf, but whatever. The point being getting a LA of about 50 :D You can actually "condense" LA legally if you know what you're doing with the Tauric template. Note very well what LA you inherit with that one (since it looks at two separate component creatures). |
