What's the highest AC a 5th level Erudite can have. Considering he can have access to any spell or power? He has no armor prof, recomendations. What spells or powers can crank up his AC?

1st Lvl - Force Screen +4 AC (Augmentable), Inertial Armor +4 AC (Augmentable), Precog Defensive +1 Insight AC (Augmentable)

2nd Lvl - Mental Barrier +4 Deflection to AC (Augmentable)

1st Egoist - Thicken Skin +1 AC (Augmentable)

You probably already know this, I reckon Inertial Armor Overchanneled & Extended is the way to go (1 Standard Action) also is the Cheapest to augment, 2 extra PP/+1 AC.

Probably not what you were after, but anyway ...

You can get a 3rd level astral construct.

Oh, wait...

Any combos you come up with can only have up to 3 power components. Some combos might make use of items as well. Your limiting factor is your UPD. If you find a combo of 3 powers (none over 3rd level) that gives you a mega armor class, then you have just spent all your unique powers per day to be a turtle. What would you be doing for offense at that point?

To be a good combo for a 5th level erudite who still needs to be able to earn XP, it should have no more than 2 power components (leaving the third slot for offense) and only call for items you would reasonably have on hand.

At higher levels you will certainly want Metamorphosis since it can boost your AC and also allows you to add movement and offense with the same UPD slot.

Umm how about using power stones?

Internal armor
Force screen
Concealing Aroma
Blur
Gaseous Form
etc...etc...

I suggest getting a mithril chain shirt and mithril heavy shield, and enchanting them further. mithril = no AP penalty, so it doesn't matter that you're not proficient. Add defensive precognition or maybe mental barrier if you need more. If you can see in the dark, you might consider control light + solicit psicrystal for 100% darkness (imposing a 50% miss chance for foes who can't see you in the dark).

Get a darkwood heavy shield. It's cheaper than mithral and has no mechanical disadvantages compared to mithral for a psionicist.
