new minds eye article [Archive] - Wizards Community

04-11-07, 10:35 PM I like the new shaper option quick astral construct, as well as the seer bardic knowledge ability. Rather disappointed in the telepath options though - telepathy (psicrystal already does that) and harbinger (can't see this worth being a feat, esp since the opponent gets a will save to resist it, all for maybe an extra +1 DC on mind attacks). Any ideas/comments on this latest minds eye article?

04-11-07, 10:47 PM As a astral- construct fan, I love the personal one. Makes my mouth water at lvl 17 using fast-healing, Improved flying, and Dimension sliding-astral construct to block for you.

The bardic knowledge and personal construct ones are equally nifty as well. Three cheers for Mind's Eye!

04-12-07, 03:40 PM All of the "minor power" abilities are great. They give the psion a neat innate psionic ability. It's reminiscent of talents, which is nice, even if you have to give up a feat for them. Shapers get to make anything, Egoists get to mold their faces, Seers get to know things, Telepaths get mindspeech, Kineticists get burning finger snaps, and Nomads get to bend space. Those abilities are the coolest ones, if not the best.

Telepathy is awesome (Psionic Cyrano de Bergerac).

Trinket is interesting (Now if my D&D character is DM, he can generate minatures on the fly).

04-15-07, 02:03 AM I have to say, this article is absolutely great in every way. My favorites of all the Psion variants, by far, would have to be:

3. Psychic Knowledge - the Seer can finally become the stereotypical know-it-all
2. Trinkets/Energy Snap - it's the little things like this that makes me love the Psion

But my favorite has to be
1. Personal Construct - Just awesome, both mechanically and flavorfully

I would have to say that this article easily trumps the last in sheer coolness.
