Overchannel and Psi-abilities [Archive] - Wizards Community

07-31-07, 05:50 PM I searched the boards for this but couldn't see anyone asking this.

I currently have a Kalashtar telepath who has the Kalashtar telepath levels (which allows her to use Mind Link at Character level), Overchannel and Transcend Limits feats.

Can she Overchannel and Transcend on her Kalashtar Mind Link psi-ability?? From what I read on psi-abilities, I should be able to use it since it is still considered manifesting a power. I know I can't use power points toward it but I should be able to increase the duration by +2 levels, right?

Any official ruling on this?

By the rules, no. Using a psi-like ability is similar to manifesting a power in many ways, but they are not the same. The text of Overchannel is is pretty clear: "When manifesting a power, you can..."
