Azzy 06-12-07, 10:19 PM	Hey guys, I'm trying to recreate a psywar I played in 3.0, but some of the powers from the Mind's Eye that I used regularly were never officially converted to 3.5. I bring this up because I know that someone here has to have done their own conversions (but the search function is availing me naught). So, can anyone point me to conversions of dimension strike, ectogoo, psychokinetic blast, etc?

Teleport and hit someone in the same round. It's from the Mind's Eye. It was, in essence, a 5th level free-action close-range line-of-sight teleport. Dimension Slide does something very, very close.
InkBlot 06-13-07, 01:10 PM	OK, I see. Thanks. To further clarify for the OP, dimension slide is the same as dimension strike, except for power level and the action required to use it. Dim slide can come closer to dim strike by augmenting, which would bump dim slide's cost up to that of a 5th level power, and lower the manifesting action to just a move action. There are two powers in ComPsi that also come close to dimstrike; dimension hop and inconsistent location. I believe inconsistent location is in another book as well, but I don't know which one. Dimension hop is a 1st level power on the freedom mantle, which allows you to 'port 10 feet as a swift action. For each extra pp you put into it, you go an additional 5 feet. So if you pay 9 (the same as dimstrike), you can 'port 50 feet as a swift action. However, because dimhop is only on the freedom mantle, a psion, wilder, or psychic warrior would have to use an Expanded Knowledge feat to get this power. Inconsistent location is a 6th level chaos mantle, psion/wilder, and psywar power. It takes a standard action to manifest, but once you have activate it you can 'port as a swift action each round for a minute per level. However, you can only 'port as far as your move speed.

There's some issues regarding its cost that CPsi *gasp* didn't clear up (its cost doesn't line up with its power level), but it's a good one for extended combats.
Azzy 06-15-07, 01:18 PM	Thanks guys for the help. Some of that I'm a bit embarrassed that I didn't pick up on my own. Shows what I get for not playing enough. *sigh* It's a shame that they took away (sort of) some of my favorite toys.... In order to get that full-round attack with dimension slide, I'd have to take Quicken Power (not necessarily a bad thing, but I'd probably forego it otherwise). Unfortunately, both entangling ectoplasm and energy push are not on the Psywar's power list--requiring Expanded Knowledge each (something I doubt I'm willing to do).
Deekin 06-15-07, 02:23 PM	If you want teleport+Full attack, you want Dimension Hop from CompPsi- Swift action teleport of 5ft + 5 Per (1 or 2 pp) spent. And it's a first level power.
Kanachi 06-15-07, 04:26 PM	I'm playing a psion/scout/elocator/ghostbreaker build at the moment and the ability to take 2 five foot steps and dimension hop the remaining distance to my target (giving me skirmish with both my melee weapons without worrying over my distance to target) is truly awesome.
