Has anyone actually tried converting the spells in Spell Compendium into powers? I know only a percentage of them are going to be able to make the transition and maintain their mechanics while only changing the feel, but it'd be an interesting project.

For example:

Void Orb
Metacreativity
Level: Shaper 9
Display: Visual; see text
Manifesting Time: 1 standard action
Range: Medium (100 ft. +10 ft./level)
Effect: 2-ft.-radius sphere
Duration: 1 round/level (D)
Saving Throw: Fortitude partial; see text
Power Resistance: Yes
Power Points: 17

You forge a conduit between the Astral and Material planes, and draw an impossibly large quantity of ectoplasm through the link. With sheer force of will, you condense the ectoplasm into a 4-ft.-wide sphere of featureless darkness. The only sign of the tremendous energy contained in the sphere is the slight breeze that blows towards it from all directions as the very atmosphere around the orb is sucked in and utterly destroyed.

You craft an orb of condensed ectoplasm that destroys everything it touches. As a move action, you can direct the orb fly up to 30 feet per round, halting upon entering another creature's space and automatically striking it.
When struck by the orb, a subject takes 34d6 points of damage (a successful Fortitude save reduces the damage to 5d6). Any creature reduced to 0 or fewer hp by the orb is disintegrated (regardless of whether it succeeded or failed on the save), leaving behind only a trace of fine dust. When used against an object, the orb disintegrates up to a 10-ft.-cube of nonliving matter.
The orb ignores any psionic or magical barrier of equal or lower level (even effects such as prismatic sphere) and destroys any force effect it comes in contact with (unless that effect is immune to psionic disintegrate or similar powers or spells), but cannot penetrate a null psionics field. It can harm ethereal and incorporeal creatures as if it were a force effect.
If the distance between you and the orb ever exceeds the power's range, the orb instantly winks out.
Augment: For every additional power point you spend, the damage dealt to a creature on a failed Fortitude save increases by 2d6 points.

Nullification Ray
Psychokinesis
Level: Kineticist 7
Display: Au, Vi
Manifesting Time: 1 standard action
Range: Close (25 ft. +5 ft./2 levels)
Effect: Ray
Duration: 1 round/level
Saving Throw: Will negates (object)
Power Resistance: Yes
Power Points: 13

As you manifest the power, you project a ray of invisible psychokinetic interference that obstructs local psionic resonances around your target.

If you succeed on a ranged touch attack, the nullification ray affects its target as if it were inside a null psionics field (though a successful Will save negates the ray's effect).
If this power is used against a creature, the subject can't manifest powers, or employ metaphysical or psi-like abilities, nor do such effects have any effect on the creature. However, the creature can still use power completion items (such as power stones) and power trigger items (such as psicrowns and dorjes), even though it can't manifest the required powers.
If this power is used against an object, the object's psychic powers are suppressed, including any powers previously manifested and currently in effect on the item, as well as any powers or psionic effects targeted on the object during the nullification ray's duration.
The power doesn't affect any objects other than the subject itself, even if the objects are worn, carried by, or in contact with the subject. For example, if a creature is the target, its equipment (including psionic items such as +4 inertial armbands) is unaffected.
Note that while its manifesting ability is suppressed, it also becomes immune to the manifesting abilities of others, so it is wise to use this effect only on members of manifesting classes, psionic fey, or similar weaklings, whom you can easily have pounded into oblivion by your crystal golem.
Augment: If you spend 4 additional power points, the ray also suppresses all psionic items worn or carried by the target at the time the power is manifested. If he subsequently moves more than 10 feet from the item, the ray ceases to nullify it.
If you spend 2 additional power points, the subject becomes incapable of activating power completion or power trigger items for the duration of the effect (this applies to all power completion and power trigger items, even ones he comes in contact with once the power is in effect).

You get the idea.

Oh, I call claws of the bear! I can't wait to convert that one.

The first one my Erudite converted using SpellToPower was Wraithstrike.
