I am taking the hidden talent feature instead of wild talent for my kalashtar soulbow. What powers would make good choices for him. I will be wearing armor and a shield at this point since I am not planning on being a monk or swordsage at all right now but if you have any good ideas let me know. I would normally take expansion but of course that does not work on ranged weapons. So any help would be apreciated.

When all else fails - entangling ectoplasm. It's remains effective at manifester level 1 even at high levels. Plus the ranged touch attack synergizes well with a ranged combat specialist.

Chameleon, Dimension Hop, or Extend Range could also be nice.

Thanks I like these options so far as they are not what I was expecting. I shall look these up and continue to decide. If there are any more ideas let me know.

I second entangling ectoplasm as a candidate for Hidden Talent.

I also suggest psionic minor creation, as the ability to create anything made out of plant matter that can last for an hour is a really good way to get what you need, when you need it. You could create poisons, keys, weapons (not for you, perhaps, but for your friends), ladders, rope, even beer, vodka, and wine.

You'll be able to use it 2 times per day + 1/lvl, and if you're clever, you can do some really funky stuff. :D

Mindlink is also pretty awesome. Telepathy for 10 minutes is quite useful at times.

Detect psionics, if you're playing a roguish soulknife (especially if you use one of the soulknife variants on these boards).

Grip of iron is good if you plan on going up against grapplers.

Skate for a bit of extra speed and mobility.

And finally, prevenom weapon lets you poison your enemies (and has infinite duration until it's used, so you can set yourself up early in the day, so long as your weapon doesn't leave your person, and though you'll get more doses out of psionic minor creation, you can't poison yourself accidentally with prevenom weapon).
