| Runepriest04-16-07, 09:35 PM | Hello, I would like a list of recommended powers for all disciplines of level 10 psions except telepath. The Shaper is focused on astral construct and they all are basic troops in a city controlled by a lvl 30 telepath dictator. These are not unique troops, they are basic troops. |
| calronmoonflower04-16-07, 09:42 PM | Mind control powers like Charm, psionic and Dominate, psionic should work. Any mind reading power works as well. |
| Runepriest04-16-07, 09:55 PM | I said NOT for telepaths |
| Cameron_DuModre04-16-07, 09:59 PM | No offense but telepathy is a perfect Lawful evil power set. Maybe if it was explained why telepathy is not allowed? Anyway, anything that takes control from someone else or doesn't allow them any real chance to fight back would be a good power. |
| Runepriest04-16-07, 10:01 PM | Actually, already statted the telepath. But, ideas for lvl 15 lieutenants are o.k. including Psywar and soulknife lieutenants. |
| calronmoonflower04-16-07, 11:02 PM | I said NOT for telepaths  i misread your post. However, you can take Hidden Talent and select Charm, Psionic as a power. Basic Psion 1st Conceal Thought Demoralize Primal Fear Sense Link 2nd Control Sound Detect Hostile Intent Ego Whip Inflict Pain Recall Agony 3rd Cerebral Phantasm Dispel Psionics- Every manifester should know this. 4th Death Urge Detect Remote Viewing Empathic Feedback Mindwipe personality Parasite Planar Apotheosis 5th Cranial Deluge Ethereal Agent Psychic Crush Psychotic Break Stygian Dominion True seeing, Psionic :detect: 6th Aura Alteration :plotting: Contingency, Psionic Fuse Flesh Stygian Bolt 7th Decerebrate Insanity  Mind Blank, Personal Planar Champion 8th Planar Embrace Recall Death Stygian Veil 9th Microcosm Stygian Conflagration psychic warrior 1st Primal Fear 2nd Incite Bravery Painful Strike Strength of My Enemy Stygian Weapon 3rd Empathic Transfer, Hostile Escape Detection 4th Planar Apotheosis Steadfast Perception 5th - 6th Form of Doom Mind Blank, Personal Stygian Touch |
| Fromost the Grimm04-16-07, 11:49 PM | Summon Larval Flayers, or whatever the 3rd-ish level CPsi power is. The less-than-holy Psion in our party whipped this bad-boy out of the hat last session, and it had the DM hopping mad, pulling his hair out, and mumbling words such as 'broken' and 'houserule' in no time. Think Stirges, but that suck Int instead of Con. Which may not seem that great . . . but given that, with augment, you can summon a decent handful of the buggers, some of which manifest already attached, and we're talking near-automatic Int drain. Seeya spellcasters spell-slots/save DC's . . . and good night Mr. Int-Dump Meatshield. If nothing else, they'er gonna suck up AttOp's and attacks if attached. And they do sorta feel icky and creepy and evil-like. |
| Runepriest04-17-07, 08:56 AM | 1. I do not Have Cpsi (yet), 2. Dump stat for the Big guy is Cha (dwarf), but that would definitely work for LE. and to carlonmoonflower, I want for specific Psions. The way it works is you want to move up your position for your class. so i want individiual powers. And I know your thinking "Mmm, ego whip". I've decided it will be used for torture via dorjes. Also Elans are Psions, Xeph's are psywar (secret police) and soulknives (assasins), and half-giants are psywars also (normal Police). |
| Runepriest04-17-07, 08:42 PM | :bump: |
| saidin011104-17-07, 09:47 PM | just a thought, if you have CAdv, you could use shadowminds :emp: for secret police, it would probably be more flavorful, though having a prc as a "rank and file" is always something to be wary of, especially when the flavor text indicates a certain rarity of such individuals (note: flavor text for the org) also, including some thrallherds in with the standard telepaths would be evil :evillaugh: flayerspawn psychics would also be a nice touch, but they're in CPsi, nothing like the threat of having your brain eaten without having to visit the underdark, not to mention that they can get a more powerful psionic blast than true illithids  EDIT: oh, right, you don't have CPsi, that sucks, lurks are cool, too, basicly a psionic, any alignment assassin, from 1st level, also, the crusader would make a more combat/teamwork oriented class for the police force, though they have to worship a deity, so your civ would have to have a patron deity for that to work w/o houseruling |
| saidin011104-17-07, 10:20 PM | when I get home from work in the morning, I'll look into lists of "evil" powers I'm thinking Eyes of the Basilisk is a definite must as well as Stygian powers, Larval Flayers is good, as well as the Ectoplasmic Swarm, summons crystalline ectoplasmic spider swarm, that creepy crawly feeling, yeah, that's not just a figment of your imagination any more |
| Runepriest04-18-07, 09:40 AM | Do have Complete Adventurer. If you need to know what books i have, check my sig. |
| saidin011104-18-07, 11:01 AM | okay heres a list of evil/fits well with evil characters powers I'm going to put a CP after Complete Psionic powers some of the powers are not overtly evil themed, but are of great aid to an evil themed character, plus, I assumed that your psions will be pretty specialized along discipline lines with just a little bleed over, so I figured you'd need a good selection of powers to choose from, especially without CPsi, with CPsi, I would have elaborated with Mantle powers to take with Exp Knowledge note: in my opinion, inertial armor, energy ray, and concussion blast are must haves for almost any psion build that doesn't multi-class for some serious fighting skills, and concussion blast is the first available force power, so it is pretty much a neccessity 1st level General: Attraction Conceal Thoughts Control Light Deceleration Demoralize Deja Vu Disable Dissipating Touch Distract Mind Thrust Prescience, Offensive Primal Fear CP Stygian Discernment CP Telempathic Projection Kineticist: Control Object Seer: Destiny Dissonance 2nd level General: Cloud Mind Concealing Amorpha Control Sound Ego Whip Energy Emanation Feat Leech Id Insinuation Inflict Pain Larval Flayers CP Mental Disruption Recall Agony Stygian Ray CP Egoist: Chameleon 3rd level General: Cerebral Phantasm CP Dimension Twister CP Energy Lance CP Mindfire CP Mind Trap Psionic Blast Share Pain, Forced Telekinetic Thrust Seer: Escape Detection Fate Link Shaper: Concealing Amorpha, Greater Ectoplasmic Cocoon 4th level General: Death Urge Ectoplasmic Swarm CP Empathic Feedback Mindwipe Personality Parasite Planar Apotheosis CP Power Leech Shadow Eft CP Suggestion, Implanted CP Telekinetic Maneuver Egoist: Metamorphosis Psychic Vampire Kineticist: Control Body Nomad: Dismissal, Psionic Shaper: Burrowing Bonds CP 5th level General: Catapsi Cranial Deluge CP Ectoplasmic Shambler Leech Field Psychic Crush Psychotic Break CP Stygian Dominion CP Egoist: Psychofeedback Kineticist: Fiery Discorporation Nomad: Baleful Teleport 6th level General: Aura Alteration Breath of the Black Dragon Cloud Mind, Mass Co-opt Concentration Disintegrate, Psionic Ethereal Abduction CP Fuse Flesh Remote View Trap Stygian Bolt CP Kineticist: Null Psionics Field Nomad: Banishment, Psionic Shaper: Crystallize 7th level General: Decerebrate Divert Teleport Energy Claw CP Eyes of the Basilisk CP Insanity Planar Champion CP Sequester, Psionic Kineticist: Reddopsi Shaper: Ectoplasmic Cocoon, Mass 8th level General: Bend Reality Matter Manipulation Planar Embrace CP Recall Death Shadow Body Stygian Veil CP Kineticist: Telekinetic Sphere, Psionic 9th level General: Apopsi Assimilate Microcosm Reality Revision Stygian Conflagration CP Urge Extermination CP Egoist: Metamorphosis, Greater Just because I felt like it.... Telepathy Powers 1st Charm, Psionic 2nd Aversion Brain Lock Suggestion, Psionic 3rd Crisis of Breath Empathic Transfer, Hostile CP False Sensory Input 4th Dominate, Psionic Mindlink, Thieving Modify Memory, Psionic 5th Mind Probe 6th Mind Switch 7th Crisis of Life 8th Mind Seed 9th Mind Switch, True |
| Runepriest04-18-07, 05:53 PM | Good job. You are correct in your assumption that they are focused on their discipline though. The Shapers are focused on Astral Construct. |
| saidin011104-19-07, 02:00 AM | The Shapers are focused on Astral Construct. Then you really, really need Complete Psionic for the Ectopic Form feats and the Ectopic Adept PrC. |
| Runepriest04-19-07, 09:37 AM | Thanks for the suggestions everyone! |
| crizhII04-19-07, 12:12 PM | Then you really, really need Complete Psionic for the Ectopic Form feats and the Ectopic Adept PrC. And the AC nerf... |
| saidin011104-19-07, 12:41 PM | ah, yes, I forgot about the only one astral construct at a time unless your a 5th level ectopic adept (then you can have a whole 2) silliness they imposed, of course, there's always house rules |
| Runepriest04-20-07, 09:38 AM | I won't bother using that rule, It's just silly. If I did, I'd do the same for summon monster/nature's ally. Which would severely Nerf the summoning ooze from MM3 |
| saidin011104-20-07, 05:02 PM | personally, I'd rule that WotC was under the effects of Psychotic Break while writing that little bit up |
| sir_dwar04-20-07, 07:23 PM | Person who mentioned Ectopic Adept and Ectopic form feats, are you mad? You could create virtually Identical constructs w/o the feat, so you just wasted a feat to your construct to "look kewl". Admittadly, the Emerald Gyre and Antropic Caripace aren't bad, but they reqire a second ectopic form feat to get, which isn't worth it. |
| saidin011104-20-07, 07:40 PM | I never said they're powerful, I just thought that throwing in a few of them might add some nice flavor. also, the iridescent serpent has it's uses, so there's your entry feat |
| Runepriest04-20-07, 08:40 PM | Can you summarize what the feats do, please. Do they add new choices, increase a construct for extra pp, or improve all constructs you make. |
| saidin011104-21-07, 10:38 AM | They allow you to make AC's that look a particular way and have various special abilities that are not available on the normal lists, I'm at work now, so I don't have my books, so I'm not sure if they can still take any abilities from the lists or if they are set for each form, a few of them get pretty powerful, while some just provide some extra combat options example: the Anathemic(?) Carapace is a heavily armored, decent melee construct that you can use a standard action to turn into a fireball effect, it deals damage equal to (pp spent - rounds since manifested)d6 fire damage if fireballed, though that ends the duration of the power, though if it's about to die, it's a decent option at least until the power is almost over anyways, a spread of 1d6 damage is not much compared to it's melee damage at mid to high levels, and since you almost have to be mid-levels to manifest it(unless you focus on that alone), anytime it has a couple rounds to go, the fireball is fairly useless, unless all your opponents are on the brink anyways, but if your combat is lasting 15 to 20 rounds, your probably in trouble anyways |
