Or a separate summon effect. If all else fails, you could create a Summon Pseudonatural Phthisic power. Yuck! :yuck:
SlanderPanic 06-27-07, 04:47 PM	Nope. Strictly-speaking, an astral construct is not summoned. It's shaped from summoned material. That's why it's a Metacreativity (Creation) power. The summoning powers from Complete Psionic, on the other hand, might work, though one could argue that a pseudonatural larval flayer is redundant. :P
Lycanthromancer 06-27-07, 05:12 PM	Ooh. I like this idea. Tie psionics to the Far Realms in a supplement (as if illithids and aboleths weren't enough), and include some option or other to give pseudonatural menu abilities to your constructs. Whee!

HOW you get is something else entirely (you'd just have to rewrite the pseudonatural summoning into pseudonatural construction). Or even a Pseudonatural Phrenic Phthisic .... I never understood why Phthisic do not have the [Psionic] subtipe, myself.
AntiDjinn 06-28-07, 12:42 AM	It would require a little reworking of the PrC since the shaper makes rather than summons. Rather than actually summoning beings from the Far Realm, the alienist shaper could be an individual whose mind has been touched by the realm and who has been driven insane. His constructs would be formed with the alien geometries of the realm. In other words, since astral constructs are solidified figments of the imagination of their manifester, consider what forms might be born of the imagination of a shaper who has learned secrets even the gods would rather not know.
