Psi crystal feats? [Archive] - Wizards Community

06-11-07, 11:27 PM Apparently my crystal gets some hit dice, does this mean I can select the feats it takes, if not why, and if so where does it say I can?

06-12-07, 12:15 AM From what I know, yes, you can select what feats it takes.

According to this (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/monsters/psicrystal.htm), a Psicrystal's Hit Dice is "as master’s HD." Since the description of the Psicrystal does not override anything regarding feats, we must go to the default rule on feats: one feat at HD 1, a second feat at HD 3, and a feat for every three HD after that. Thusly, Psicrystals have feats. >>a

At least, that's how I remember it. *Shrugs*

The psicrystal is under your control and thus you choose the feats it takes in much the same way you would with a druid's animal companion or paladin's mount.

I sent a question into wizards they said it doesn't get feats though:S

Also one person didn't know what dissolving weapon was in the XPH:S

06-12-07, 07:45 AM Well, if a WotC official says they don't get feats that might be important... I mean, I can trust the guys here for decent houserules, but if WotC says it, it's official as far as "rules as written" goes.

06-12-07, 07:48 AM WotC CustServ doesn't exactly have a great track record with rulings, so you have to take what they say with a grain of salt.

Good way to get Metapsionic feats you don't have room for. If you have Psionic Talent enough times, and you grap a couple from your Psicrystal, you're getting more PP than you pay for Feat Leech.

Improved Toughness?

I would say they should. Though of course Hero would be useless in that fashion xD

Nope, the one who spent the feat to get the psicrystal is the one who gains the benefit from the personality. The psicrystal gets the benefit of having a personality at all ;)
