Psicrystal BAB? [Archive] - Wizards Community

02-15-08, 10:37 AM My players say that the psicrystal has the same BAB as their psionic master, is that true?

02-15-08, 10:40 AM Psicrystals are constructs.

Their hit dice are equal to their master's hit dice.

Constructs have BAB of 3/4 Hit Dice.

Therefore, a psicrystal has BAB equal to a cleric / monk / rogue of its level ( or 3/4 hit dice, if that's easier for you to understand).

I.e. a 4 hit die psicrystal has a +3 BAB.

02-15-08, 02:37 PM It wouldn't be out of line to give it Weapon Finesse as a bonus feat, since I'm not aware of another Tiny or smaller creature that doesn't have it.

That BAB will also help with ranged attack rolls the Psicrystal makes, such as by sharing the Energy Conversion power with it.

02-15-08, 02:47 PM weapon finesse wont be terribly helpful without giving the psicrystal an attack somehow.. a diminutive creatures unarmed strike does - for damage.

Or, for a less humorous route, any touch attack power you channel through your psicrystal. They can do that at 3rd level, ya know.

02-15-08, 03:25 PM There are an incredible array of ways to do it, I just thought it was important to mention that you must use one of them as it doesnt really have a normal mode of attacking ;)
