Psicrystals [Archive] - Wizards Community

01-21-08, 07:40 AM How long does it take to make one of these psicrystals? If it is in the Psionics Handbook, where? I did a search but could not find it.

01-21-08, 10:23 AM IIRC, it isn't listed anywhere in the XPH. Given that it requires a feat, I'd come up with something reasonable for your situation and go with it.

A previous DM allowed my character to just have it as soon as I took the feat. You may decide that it should require 8-24 hours to "attune" the crystal in preparation for receiving the fragment of the character's personality. Just a couple of ideas.

01-21-08, 10:38 AM There's nothing in the Expanded Psionics Handbook stating or implying that psicrystals are made from anything other than a psychic's solidified thoughts (like an astral construct or other tulpa). You don't have to go buy a crystal before taking the feat.

edit: Yes, "how do I get a new psicrystal if mine gets destroyed" is one of The Great Mysteries Of Psi. No, there's never been anything close to an official answer from Wizards Of The Coast. The best we have is from CustServ, who say nothing more than "you can get another one."

1) It's instantaneous - all other similar feats explicitly state a time frame.
2) It's repeatable at will - again all other similar feats explain the consequences of pet death.
