| protosswarrior04-28-08, 05:23 PM | Recently, my DM let me play as a Warforged Psion (Kineticist). Unfortunately, I didn't know we were going to play in Eberron, so I planned him out as a human, in other words, I need to scrap one of his feats: • Psycrystal affinity (resolved) • Psiforged Body • Extend Power - Psion bonus • Psionic meditation • Psicrystal containmen - Psion Bonus • Overchannel • Talented • Twin power - Psion Bonus • Quicken Power • Burrowing Power • Empower Power • Expanded knowledge (ultrablast) - Psion Bonus Powers (I've worked out with my DM that powers like vigor repair instead of heal)= -1st=crystal shard, control flames, inertial armor, vigor, psi grease -2nd=energy missile, egowhip, mental disruption, psi identify -3rd=dispel psionics, touchsight, energy retort, energy wall -4th=death urge, energy ball, psi freedom of movement, inertial barrier -5th=psi major creation, adapt body, power resistnace, energy current -6th=retrieve, psi disintegration, black dragon breath, fuse flesh -7th=decebrate, energy conversion, oakbody, *ultrablast* -8th=greater psi teleport, recall death, psi telekinetic sphere, true metabolism -9th=reality revision, apopsi, assimilate, tornado blast |
| Lycanthromancer04-28-08, 05:56 PM | Depends on what powers you're using, and what you're going to use your feats for. Mind expanding a bit? |
| Artector04-28-08, 06:06 PM | Depends on how much you are willing to change your character, but dropping Skill Focus (Concentration) and switching your psicrystal to a Single-Minded one would keep about the same power level. Otherwise I'd suggest dropping Talented, because you don't have Overchannel anyways, so you don't even qualify for it. (Unless you mean Psionic Talent, in which case you could live down a couple of power points.) |

| Lycanthromancer04-28-08, 08:31 PM | Might I suggest dropping Psionic Body and one of your 2nd level powers, and taking share pain instead? Then you have vigor to act as an hp buffer rather than a feat for a few measly hit points. Also, Twin Power is rarely worth it (though it can be, but it's very expensive for what it does). |

First off it's not psionic body, it's psiforged body As for my powers list, I'm fine w/ my powers as is. Besides, share pain can only be used on a willing target, and since I don't have any control or domination powers, it's pretty useless. |
| Lycanthromancer04-29-08, 04:03 PM | Hint: psicrystal. Share vigor and share pain, and you basically double your hit points for the both of you. |
| Bauglir04-29-08, 05:06 PM | I recommend against Psiforged Body, as the bonus power points are less useful to you than many other feats could be. In fact, you don't seem to have many powers requiring an attack roll. Grab Adamantine Body instead, possibly, as that'll give you some nice AC at relatively low cost to you. |
| Viktor_Von_Doom04-29-08, 07:28 PM | Psiforged boy counts as a Psionic feat right? If so take it and Adamantine Body at first level. |
| Terazul04-29-08, 08:05 PM | Psiforged boy counts as a Psionic feat right? If so take it and Adamantine Body at first level. Nope. The premise of a Psionic feat is that you must be psionic in order to take it in the first place; Psiforged Body pretty much exists to say "Hey, you can take psionic feats now" (As you now have a power point reserve, and thus can gain psionic focus, etc). |

Grab Adamantine Body instead, possibly, as that'll give you some nice AC at relatively low cost to you. not quite sure what the attack roll thing means... as for the adamantine body, not sure if I can use it considoring that I'm not proficient with heavy armor: "Adamantine Body [Warforged] At the cost of mobility, your body has been crafted with a layer of adamantine that provides formidable protective armor and some damage reduction. Prerequisite: Warforged. Benefit: Your armor bonus is increased to +8 and you gain damage reduction 2/adamantine. However, your base land speed is reduced to 20 feet, and you are considered to be wearing heavy armor. You have a +1 maximum Dexterity bonus to AC, a -7 skill penalty on all skill checks that armor check penalties apply to (Balance, Climb, Escape Artist, Hide, Jump, Move Silently, Sleight of Hand, Swim, and Tumble), and an arcane spell failure chance of 35%. Special: Warforged druids who take this feat cannot cast druid spells or use any of a druid’s supernatural or spell-like class features. Warforged characters with this feat do not gain the benefit of any class feature prohibited to a character wearing heavy armor. You may only select this feat as a 1st level character." also, can I have composite plating AND Psiforged/Adamantine Body feat? |
| Artector04-29-08, 09:37 PM | not quite sure what the attack roll thing means... as for the adamantine body, not sure if I can use it considoring that I'm not proficient with heavy armor: *snip* also, can I have composite plating AND Psiforged/Adamantine Body feat? It isn't an ACP, thus proficiency doesn't apply. See the FAQ: Does a warforged with the Adamantine Body feat need to have Heavy Armor Proficiency in order to avoid suffering penalties for wearing heavy armor? No. The Adamantine Body feat resembles heavy armor in many ways, but it doesn’t require you to have any special proficiency. As for your other question: Adamantine Body overrides Composite Plating. Psiforged body doesn't affect the bonuses from Composite Plating so they both benefit the warforged. |
| CrimsonDeath04-30-08, 02:59 AM | If you can get two Warforged feats at first level. As far as I know, the only way to do this is with Flaws. |
| Sinfire Titan04-30-08, 03:18 AM | If you can get two Warforged feats at first level. As far as I know, the only way to do this is with Flaws. Taint/Dark Chaos too. But my favorite way is flaws. Why risk going insane/dying/******* off the DM if flaws are allowed? Why not drop Talented and shoot for the Anarchic Initiate (from Complete Psionic)? Its one of the few good things to be printed in the book, and is great for Kineticists. |

First off, DM won't let me use flaws Second, if I wanted to use complete psionic, I'd have to recalibrate all of my powers and feats, so probably not.. |
| Scion of Coldshard04-30-08, 07:15 PM | The book that has the psiforged feat in it also has example characters that do not actually use a feat on it.. they simply get its benefit without needing to spend a feat on it. Because of this I think that some people who made the book believe it is/should be a free choice while others believe it is/should be a feat cost. I would suggest asking your dm what they think on the matter. The psiforged body feat is really weak as is though, in case that helps any ;) Maybe the dm will allow it to be taken without a feat (possibly losing part of what it does) or still make it cost a feat but make it actually worthwhile (there are a lot of different ways to do this). |
| protosswarrior04-30-08, 07:47 PM | Why not drop Talented and shoot for the Anarchic Initiate (from Complete Psionic)? Becasue it's a PRC and not a feat The psiforged body feat is really weak as is though, in case that helps any how is being your own cognizance crystal weak? make it cost a feat but make it actually worthwhile (there are a lot of different ways to do this). Like what? PR? Bonus PP? |
| Scion of Coldshard04-30-08, 08:17 PM | Cognizance crystals are extremely weak to begin with. Not getting an armor boost of some sort sucks for a body feat. There are so many different ways to make it better any list I could make would be dwarfed by the sheer amount of possibilities unlisted. Hence why I said you should talk with the dm ;) |
| CrimsonDeath04-30-08, 10:19 PM | Also, your body isn't even a very good cognizance crystal. For most of your career, you can't even manifest your highest-level power out of it. |
| Mercurius05-01-08, 12:00 PM | If you can get two Warforged feats at first level. As far as I know, the only way to do this is with Flaws. Races of Eberron has a Fighter substitution level for 'forged that let them take an extra body feat as their first level fighter bonus feat. |
| hogarth05-01-08, 12:34 PM | I'd get rid of Extend Power or Burrowing Power and definitely get rid of Expanded Knowledge (Ultrablast). |
| Lycanthromancer05-01-08, 01:25 PM | The only reason ultrablast is useful is in the case where you're surrounded by foes and friends alike, and you want to avoid hitting your friends. Otherwise, it's almost useless (though channeling it through a high-level psicrystal can increase its usefulness). |
| protosswarrior05-01-08, 04:33 PM | Long story short, I'm getting rid of Exapnded Knowledge and was able to alter Psiforged body to give me PR 10. And with that, I end the post (NO MORE COMMENTS) |
