Theme of the build: This is a crafter, summoning astral constructs. I almost made a bodyguard for him but it would be too much for me to keep track of. Starting lvl 8th Flaws: Noncombatant, Poor reflexes. Build: Shaper 5, Constructor 10, Ectopic Adept 5 (I heard that Ectopic Adept wasnt all that great so im curious if its worth getting?) 1st: Overchannel (1st), Talented (Flaw), Boost construct? (Flaw) 3rd: Empower Power 5th: Extend Power 6th: Ectopic form????? 9th: Skill focus (Sculpting)???? Tactics: Make use of Minor creation to make Poisons to cover sling bullets/Arrows/bolt/anything else, and use TK thrust as a delivery system, the idea is just too good. 27k cash Gear: Unknown, except for a Bag of holding
Omen_of_Peace 02-08-08, 04:39 PM	First, try to make sure your DM is not using the (baaad) Complete Psi nerf of Astral Construct : that makes EA useless. As for feats : you should choose them in parallel with the powers. What do you intend to Extend/Empower ? Consider Expanded Knowledge (Clairvoyant Sense, Energy Missile, Metamorphosis or Schism). Look at the 5th level ACF for Shapers (on the Mind's Eye). I would check with your DM that he's ok with the TK trick.

Dawnmor 02-08-08, 04:59 PM	Extend power was to make the Minor creations to last for like 5 hours or something. Enough time to make a poison and then get out of dodge before it disappears and the black market comes running to you wanting their money back heh. So shapers arent that good then ? ACF?
Fatalis_902 02-08-08, 05:19 PM	Shapers are good, ask Tempest, he'll tell you. The things that are not good are the Ectopic Form feats and the Ectopic Adept PrC, which is based around a nerf to AC in Comp. Psionic. Also, ACF stands for Alternative Class Feature. You know, a class feature for some class that is not one of their normal ones, and in order for them to use it, they have to give up one of their normal class features, which is specified in the description.

Shapers are pretty damn good. Shaper 20 is a good build. And Ectopic Form sucks. I might suggest getting Psionic Meditation so you can use your meatpsionics more. And Expanded Knowledge can add a lot of versatility to the powers known. If you really want to you can look in the Mind's Eye at the Personal Construct (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/psm/20070411a) alternative class feature, because it is awesome. Its about halfway down the page. You should be cool with Shaper 10/Constructor 10 (or 5/10/5 in reality.)

Not necessarily, but you can certainly survive with a low str/dex. But its your character. I'd also like to note I don't think that 18s are worth it, the cost is just too high, I go with 16-17 myself.
CrimsonDeath 02-08-08, 08:14 PM	Strength is pretty much useless for a Psion. Dex is good for Armor Class, but Constitution and Intelligence are more important.
