I was curious about what considered to be the "must have", "good to have" and "try to avoid" powers for a shaper.

*I know from previous posts that the very top of the "Must Have" is Astral Construct and possibly Matter Manipultion, but then what?

from the Discipline list:

Must Have:
Astral Construct
Minor Creation
Fabricate, Psionic
Hail of Crystals
Genesis

Good to have
Psionic Repair Damage...if you are Warforged...otherwise Try to Avoid
Ectoplasmic Cocoon
Quintessence
Crystallize
Fabricate, Greater Psionic
Ectoplasmic Cocoon, Mass

try to Avoid
Concealing Amorpha, Greater...... too short duration
True Creation ...........................
Astral Seed ............................. just avoid dying in the first place

I wouldn't say Greater Concealing Amorpha is bad, it makes you completely immune to AoOs. And Repair Damage is good if you have Warforged in your party or if you are a Constructor.

Otherwise, pretty much what Carnivore said.

I researched an augment to Psionic Repair Damage that has it operate like Make Whole, and that version of it has another augment that can undo warping, burning, and similar. It's proven to be one of the most interesting powers in my repotoire (fixing the remains of a fireballed wagon in the middle of a road chase, repairing property damage we caused to reduce evidence of our passing, recovering ashes of burned books and restoring them to figure out what was going on...).

That said, that was a houserule. Otherwise, I agree with Lokiyn in general.
