| OmegaLord05-09-07, 03:16 PM | Just a couple of ideas that seem to dovetail nicely with psionics to my mind. 1. arcane strike: yes I know we want to avoid "psionic X" but I think a psi version of this feat would be wicked neat. Heck one could just convert spell slots to PP with the attendant rules and go to town. Would a straight conversion of the feat be anywhere near balanced? (imagines an ardent or wilder nova-ing thier remaining PP on BIG psi strike) 2. Jade phoenix mage: just picked up ToB and it is definitely one of the more interesting books I have perused in quite a while. A straight psi-magic conversion on this one is a smidge more difficult considering the heavy arcane flavor of this one but psi is MADE for gish builds like this one. Perhaps a restructureing of the class with a more psi feel? diamond mind manuvers are pretty much a must considering flavor and crunch synergy but other than that I am a little at a loss. any comments/thoughts/suggestions are highly appreciated. |

Prerequisites: Manifester level 3rd, base attack bonus +4 Benefit: When you activate this feat (a free action that does not provoke an attack of opportunity), you can channel mental energy into a melee weapon, your unarmed strike, or natural weapons. You must sacrifice at least one power point to do this, but you gain a +1 bonus on all your attack rolls for 1 round, and deal an extra 1d4 points of damage. For every 2 additional power points sacrificed, the bonus to attack increases by 1 and the bonus to damage increases by 1d4. The bonus you add to your attack rolls from the form this feat cannot be greater than you base attack bonus. You can not spend more power points on this feat than your higest manifester level. Honestly, I think that it would be better as a power. There's already a psionic feat that enhances melee attacks, and 3.5 took all the old power-point-dependant psionic feats and made them powers. Powered Strike Psychokinesis Level: Psion/wilder 1, psychic warrior 1 Display: Visual Manifesting Time: 1 swift action Range: Touch Target: Melee weapon held Saving Throw: None Power Resistance: No Duration: 1 round Power Points: 1 You imbue your weapon with psychokinetic energy which increases the speed and strength of your attacks. If you let go of the weapon, the energy instantly dissipates. You gain a +1 bonus on all your attack rolls with the weapon, the weapon deals an extra 1d4 points of damage. Augment: For every 2 additional power points sacrificed, the bonus to attack increases by 1 and the bonus to damage increases by 1d4. |

There's a thread on this board with people hoping for a Mind's Eye article about the Tome of Battle. One of the posters suggested the Obsidian Dragon Cultist as an psionic answer to the Jade Phoenix Mage. |
