10-25-07, 02:28 PM Howdy folks, I was wondering if the Psionic variant for the artificer is actually considered a manifester or not? I was wondering if I can get psionic feats that require a manifester level of 1st if I take a level in Psionic artificer

does anyone know? i cannot look at the psionic artificer atm because im at work so any help would be greatly appreciated.

10-25-07, 05:26 PM I don't have Magic of Eberron, but I'm assuming the word 'psionic' in the class's name means that, yes, it is psionic.

10-25-07, 06:01 PM Even though infusions aren't spells, the default Artificer still has a caster level equal to his class level. It would follow that the Psionic Artificer would have a manifester level equal to his class level.

And yet he's supposed to gain Metapsionic bonus feats instead of Metamagic bonus feats, even though they don't work the same. Whoever designed the Psionic Artificer wasn't paying attention, and I never payed close enough attention to notice it.

Oh, and RE:Amaril, normal Artificers qualify for stuff that says "Caster Level 1st," etc. but not "Arcane/Divine Caster level 1st."

The variables of a power’s effect often depend on its manifester level, which is equal to your psionic class level. A power that can be augmented for additional effect is also limited by your manifester level (you can’t spend more power points on a power than your manifester level). See Augment under Descriptive Text, below.

You can manifest a power at a lower manifester level than normal, but the manifester level must be high enough for you to manifest the power in question, and all level-dependent features must be based on the same manifester level.

In the event that a class feature or other special ability provides an adjustment to your manifester level, this adjustment applies not only to all effects based on manifester level (such as range, duration, and augmentation potential) but also to your manifester level check to overcome your target’s power resistance and to the manifester level used in dispel checks (both the dispel check and the DC of the check).
The conversion of Artificer to Psi-(X) Artificer is not "clean".

iirc - 1st level psi-thingy, with link power metapsi, with psychic reformation, will happen at 6th level, or can be bought earlier. Magic Mantle from CPsi makes UPD and UMD function under one umbrella. Psionic blasty powers work better, and PsiArty gets around metapsi better, especially above the 4th level limit on Wands; something Dorjes don't have. Erudite 1 gets you a psicrystal and a feat.
