Ok, this is going to sound like a really basic question. Do metapsionic feats count as psionic feats for purposes of Psionic Body? I only ask this because on the online SRD the metapsionic feats are marked as [metapsionic] but not [psionic]. I've assumed for some time that they were psionic for all purposes. Is this correct?

They are not the same. Psionic and metapsionic are different feat descriptors and this is important at certain points in the game. For example, a psychic warrior's bonus feats may be selected from the fighter's bonus feat list or the psionic feat list, but not from metapsionic feats.

By the RAW, no they don't count as psionic feats for the purposes of Psionic Body. But a DM could definetely say that [metapsionic] feats are simply a subclass of [psionic] feats, just like the name implies.

Either way, I think it's a well designed feat in that you mostly want it at lower levels when you can't benefit from metapsionics anyway. After level 10, it becomes to big a trade off to "stay on the [psionic] path" so to speak, but by then you have enough hp and defensive powers as is anyway, and can afford to take something better than psionic body.
