| Tinari05-24-07, 10:38 PM | Dear Psionics. I have read through the Mind's Eye, and I saw the Sangerhin. This class interested me for the most part, but they have such a limited amount of powers they can manifest on others. I was wondering if there is some class, some feature or some way I can allow myself to more easily manifest powers directly onto other people. I notice psionics lacks a lot in this area, and it really hasn't been a big problem. But I am a lover of Psionics (specially the wilder) and was wondering if there was a way to bring the buffing power of transmuters or clerics to the table of Psionics. Thank you. |

I'm not sure if crawling tattoos can have personal-range powers other than Body Adjustment in them; the rules seem a bit murky on that point. |
| Tinari05-25-07, 03:39 PM | What if, in effect, you gave all powers with a range of personal the following augment. #: For an additional 4 power points, you may change the range from personal to touch on any power which is normally beneficial. Maybe a few additions to it such as saves based on what discipline the power is from or how it affects someone, just so you can't start manifesting things like psychofeedback on enemies and forcing their mental stats down. What about making it a psionic feat? Annex Power [Metapsionic] You can manifest powers with a range of personal on any willing allies by touch. Benefit To use this feat, you must expend your psionic focus. You can treat any power you know with a range of personal as if it has a range of touch. The target must be willing otherwise the power fails automatically. Using this feat increases the power point cost of the power by 4. The power’s total cost cannot exceed your manifester level. |
| Celsun05-25-07, 06:50 PM | Why make it so expensive? Why is a psion's FoM personal when a sorc's FoM is touch, for example? |
| Tinari05-26-07, 12:29 AM | I am honestly not as well versed in spells as I am with psionics, probably due to the sheer vastness of a spell casters available material. But taking Biofeedback as a 2nd level power. Now, you are a 7th level manifester with Annex power. You can give yourself a quick DR 3/- for 6 power points. Likewise, you can expend focus and give someone DR 2/- for 7. That does seem steep. Allowing it to cost 2 extra power points brings 9th level powers into the equation. That seems a bit powerful. But, having no group to D&D with now (recently moved) it's hard for me to test these things outside of theory crafting. 4 power points extra, too steep? Would making it like extend power, costing no additional points be too low in cost? It would force you to refocus to do it again. Is the time lost in doing so a good enough balancing factor? It seems a bit powerful, given the sheer list of powers that could become touch. |
