| toriel04-25-07, 03:17 PM | I don't know where you heard that the PSP was crappy. I have one myself and the graphics are on par with PS2 games. I don't find the PSP crappy and am very happy that the game will be released on it only. There are many cool games for it that are not simply ports and their number is growing constantly. If you don't have a certain console and haven't used it for an extended amount of time, you're in no position to make that kind of comment. |
| Tempest Stormwind04-25-07, 04:06 PM | Good graphics do not a good console make. The only way we were satisfied with ours was after we modded the hell out of it to turn it into a portable SNES emulator. I'd like to see how they implement augmentation in terms of interface, myself. |

It does have good graphics, but graphics hardly make it good. Look at the PS2, it has inferior graphics to the Xbox and Cube and it sells well. The same holds true for the DS vs PSP, the DS is easily selling more units and has more support than the PSP. So better graphics doesn't mean better eveything else. Also the PSP has many ports that were available for the PS2. Even some of the PSP exclusives aren't all that exclusive (i.e. Grand Theft Auto). So whats the point of having a PSP game when you can easily play it on a console? Most people will asnwer portablility. Too bad the load times tend to be long, which is a shame. But it's not all bad. There are some gems, like Daxter, the new Ratchet and Clank, Lumines (which is being ported to PS2), Loco Roco etc. But those games, as much as I would like to play them, doesn't sell me the system. $170 is quite a bit for something lackluster at the moment. I want to see a reason to buy it, but none are there for me (yet). Besides, I really don't like the idea of not having duel analog sticks. It makes it very hard to play 1st person and 3rd person games. |

| Doomed_Penguin04-25-07, 08:48 PM | Why can't they do that for NWN2? I'd love to see some psionics in that game. It's getting pretty boring as core only (well, core plus warlock, but whatever). I could really use an expansion pack or two to draw me back into that game. |

I could really use an expansion pack or two to draw me back into that game. It *was* actually implemented in NWN1 in a player mod (You've heard of the Player's Resource Consortium?). The downside is, it's SO clunky. Implemented via textboxes, you create "schemes" (i.e. Scheme 1, unaugmented Energy Ray, 5pp Mind Thrust, Ectoplasmic Cocoon augmented for size but not DC) and while in that scheme those are your "spells" that you get with shortcuts. |

Ask and ye shall receive... http://www.nwn2prc.com/ ( Can't vouch for it's psionics, but it does give you more classes to toy with. ) |
