Psionic Combat Question [Archive] - Wizards Community

06-28-07, 06:51 PM I have to say I can't figure out psionic combat.

What is it about the chosen five defense and attack powers that make them the only psionic combat modes?

I've been looking around WotC website and found the battle of the mind and alteration pages and the cerebral assasin prc (which i think is pretty cool. Is it still suitable for 3.5?)

I found this person's interpretation of the powers and I got to thinking each one does ability damage to a specific stat. Is that only if you make it a combat mode or ... I don't know I'm just confused and I'd really like to have a character that focuses on them.

Can anyone help explain it to me?

06-28-07, 06:57 PM The combat modes is 3.0 material. It no longer exists. Take Psionic Handbook, go to nearest industry strength shredder, use shredder on book. Go to nearest gaming store, buy Expanded Psionics Handbook. Read it.

06-28-07, 07:10 PM With that said, if your really attached to the system, there is a pretty good update in the ability, which can be found in the book Hyperconscious by Bruce Cordell. The book also has a pretty good explanation on how the system works :D.

That isn't so much an "update" as a "replacement", in the same way that 3.5 psionics aren't an update to 3.0 but rather a replacement.
