RavinRay 05-23-07, 01:15 AM	Officially, gem dragons have "3.25" stats, the ".25" referring to the fact that while the Monster Manual II has a 3.5 update PDF that lists the changes to the stats of each monster, their psionics remain 3.0. Unofficially, they have 3.5 psionic stats here (http://www.geocities.com/originalravinray/dnd/psionics/Gem_Dragon_psionics.pdf).

BadCatMan 05-24-07, 12:47 AM	Two crystal dragons appear in Dragons Of Faerun. Their psionics appear to be 3.5 at first glance, so they might provide a few clues.
RavinRay 05-24-07, 02:22 AM	I've seen the stats for Saryndalaghlothtor "Lady Gemcloak" both in the original Wyrms of the North (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/wn/20031217a) column at the Realms website and DoF, and psionic charm is listed as "if using psionics" in the latter, meaning it's not the default which it should be, charm person being the default instead. :rolleyes: All the other stats are fine.

RavinRay 05-25-07, 07:54 AM	OzyBurrfoot, nothing would make me happier than to see the gem dragons in the SRD as OGC. But, before that happens, they must be definitively updated to the 3.5 psionics rules. I don't want to see a dichotomy like the way the aboleth, blue, couatl, duergar, githyanki, githzerai, thri-keen and yuan-ti have fully psionic versions in the XPH and "psionics as spell-like abilities" in the MM's. I want them to be psionic through-and-through. Magic has dragon exemplars in the chromatics and metallics; psionics should have dragon exemplars in the gems. The first opportunity Wizards asks us, "What monsters do you want to add to the SRD?" I'll nominate gem dragons in a heartbeat. Going back to my full PDF, I really can't and won't privately give it away. I've been advised to tread carefully around Wizard's copyright, which is why I took pains to explain in my website and update PDF that my work is unofficial and does not intend to infringe on the company's IP. I gave only one person from Wizards a link to that PDF. Here's what you can do. Get the gem dragon stats from your copy of Monster Manual II and put it in a Word document (the stats from the web enhancement won't do). Update the tables to the 3.5 version used by the chromatic and metallic dragons in Monster Manual. Now replace the relevant cells in those tables with the ones in my PDF. Now you have updated gem dragons in an in-house only document. That's the next best thing. :thinks:
