Psionic feats for Rangers? [Archive] - Wizards Community

05-29-07, 02:07 AM What I am looking for here are Psionic feats that can be taken by either Wild Talented rangers, or Racially Psionic characters that have opted to take the Ranger base class. (...other than Psionic Shot/Weapon feat chains)

I could see Wind Reading similar to the Marksman (UTP), or some kind of Tracking or sensing creatures in the wild... maybe one add wis to ranged to hit when psionically focused?

Cool concepts I thought, care to flesh some out?:D

try this one then: L.I.M.E.

Empathic Nature [PSIONIC]

Prerequisite:WIS 13, Wild Empathy class feature.

Benefit: Gain a +4 on Wild Empathy checks while Psionically focused. You may expend your psionic focus once per day to attempt to instantly befriend an animal. Treat as Charm, Psionic (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/powers/charmPsionic.htm) that only effects animals, with a Manifester level equal to 1/2 character level.

05-29-07, 03:34 PM I don't hate it. I'd make it a +4, though, and I'd make the ML for the psionic charm effect equal to 1/2 the character's ranger level.

ok then... + 4 bonus it is.

As for the ML rewording, technically the prereqs leave the feat open to Druids too as they also have Wild Empathy... is psionic charm really that tough at ML 10 given the limitation that it only effects animals?

05-29-07, 03:49 PM There are a few feats in High Psionics: Psionic Feats that can be used for a ranger, like Psionic Detection and Improved Psionic Detection, which function somewhat like Detect Psionics, and the latter lets you track people by their aura if they have the Track feat.

And sure, it only affects animals, but we don't want the DCs getting too high. Otherwise, you'll have rangers and druids charming dire mammoths, dinosaurs, and the like left and right, since they'd be able to use the ability an unlimited number of times per day.
