I'm missing my book... anyways, does a focus have to be charged the round before it is used, or can it be held all day?

You can hang onto your focus as long as you like until you decide to expend it for one reason or another. Feats like Speed of Thought depend on this fact.

The SRD (a handy mirror is www.d20SRD.org) has your book's rules in it.

And focus can be held until you need to use it. More than one of my characters took 20 on Concentration at the beginning of the day (call it a "centering kata") to get use out of his psionic feats.

You lose it if you fall unconscious, though.

Or until you hit someone with Psionic Hole or a lurk hits you with Unfocusing Strike.

Basically, once you get focused it stays up until you use it or loose it. You use it by expending. You loose it by running out of points, falling asleep or going unconscious (being dazed doesn't do it). Dying also costs you your focus, but it would be the least of your concerns at that point. You would also loose focus if for any reason you lost the psionic sub-type (not that that ever really happens).

Wish?
Interesting side question .. can wish remove the psionic sub-type from a creature?
.. and if it can, does it still have PP ?? :uh-huh:

Probably as much as you can wish that the BBEG stops being a wizard, and then watch him lose all his spell slots. Hmm...
