:rolleyes: What I meant was can a power point be spent on one of a ninja's ki powers and vice versa?

04-15-07, 06:15 PM I don't believe there has been a precident set for that. I don't know if I'd have too much trouble with it, concidering that ninja's dont actively gain PP and it would be essentially based upon racial bonuses.

There is definately no "official" ruling, and I don't think there has been anything suggested on the boards to that effect.

That's exactly my problem, If anybody is experienced with both ninjas and psionics, It would be very helpful to know a ki-pp exchange rate.

That said, I would allow a feat to enable it, albiet at ever-increasing costs. The trick is to keep the ninja as the best ninja, as opposed to ninja 1/psion 19 or whatever, and to keep the psion the best psion. It would also prevent the kalashtar from being the hands-down best ninja race, even though they would remain a strong option.

Ki Dodge: 3 PP
Greater Ki Dodge: 5 PP
Ghost Strike: 5 PP
Ghost Step: Ethereal- 7 PP
Ghost Walk: 13 PP

Is how I would rule it, after taking a feat that allows for the transfer. I would also rule that the feat required a minimum of a 13 Int and Wis. Wis for the Ki abilities, and Int in order to have at least half a brain so you would know how to use your mental powers in place of your spiritual ones.

04-15-07, 07:35 PM If you wanted to create a psionic variant of the ninja, using the expenditure of psionic focus to power ki abilities (instead of the standard ki points) would give you a ninja with all-day endurance at the cost of speed in using multiple ki abilities. Essentially, the extra time taken to refocus becomes the cost of use.

The only point at which this doesn't quite work is with the ghost walk ability, which costs two daily ki uses (and presumably costs a standard action, since it doesn't mention how long it takes to activate). Increasing the time taken to activate this ability or requiring a Concentration check would be possibilities, although by the time you get it, ghost walk isn't that excessive, so it's only a minor issue.

The nearest to this I can find is the Kalashtar Monk with replacement levels in Races of Eberron. At level 7 they can add power points to Wholeness of Body for extra healing, 1 hp per power point.

What you may wish to consider is designing an equivalent to the Fist of Zuoken or Zerth Cenobyte class for the Ninja/Rogue/Monk, but using the Lurk abilities and powers instead of psychic warrior powers and bonus feats.
