| AdventChild08-23-07, 12:20 AM | Currently DMing a campaign in ghostwalk and i noticed they dotn even mention psionics (yet they deal with ectoplasm and such) what would be a good idea for a psionic organization in the city of Manifest (also feats and such). I know its an old 3.0 campaign, but if anyone has knowledge of this setting and would like to help a bro out, i would love the help! |
| Deekin08-23-07, 12:40 AM | Arn't the Yuan-ti the major enemies? Would that not make psionics looked down upon? |
| AdventChild08-23-07, 12:55 AM | Arn't the Yuan-ti the major enemies? Would that not make psionics looked down upon? Yes but i am not going to make every encounter with yuan-ti and its a 1st lvl campaign so they wont be seing any yuan-ti, i was looking for a more active role within the city not outside from it. |

You might want to check out the Ghostwalk 3.5 conversion Web Enhancement, by the way. Nothing useful there regarding psionics, the uncarnate could be good for the organization so i think i will have to work that on my own, ill let you know how that turns out. Thanks for the replies. |
| Amaril08-23-07, 01:20 PM | Nothing useful there regarding psionics huh? |
| AdventChild08-23-07, 01:30 PM | huh? unless there was a second web enhancement, there is only a few more monsters and player tested npcs, thats it. |
| Amaril08-23-07, 01:35 PM | unless there was a second web enhancement, there is only a few more monsters and player tested npcs, thats it.The Web Enhancement was in reference to converting the 3.0 setting to 3.5, and it is in fact a second Web Enhancement (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/we/20031225a). |

| Bocamb08-23-07, 05:12 PM | I was tinkering with some Ghostwalk ideas the other day. A few ideas crossed my mind regarding psionics and ectoplasm. A great villain for the setting might be an evil shaper at the head of a cult. His mortal and ghostly followers do his bidding because he has convinced them that he has the power to "recycle" their ectoplasmic forms. Also, I imagine that the Piran Sedestadel may include a few shapers among its ranks. Shapers may provide brilliant theoretical insights into the developing field of Ectomancy. |
| Omnirahk, half-Rahkshi08-23-07, 05:47 PM | Yes but i am not going to make every encounter with yuan-ti and its a 1st lvl campaign so they wont be seing any yuan-ti, i was looking for a more active role within the city not outside from it. I think Deekin means that yuan-ti are prominent, evil, and psionic. Therefore, the average person in ghostwalk associates psionics with yuan-ti, and yuan-ti with evil. As such, a typical commoner will see psionics as inherently evil. Or at least marking the taint of the yuan-ti. As such, there are likely a lot of people hostile to psionics. If they acknowledge a difference. |
| AdventChild08-23-07, 10:12 PM | thanks both to bocamb and omni, i will work in the organization taking in consideration what you both have said! |
