sleepydeath 06-23-07, 02:08 PM	I will play the Psychic Rogue from Mind's Eye soon and a question came to my mind. Psion/Wilder and Psychic Warrior have different entrys for pp cost to manifest a power. How much do the Psychic Rogue pay for manifesting a power, the PW or the Psion/Wilder one? It is somehow logical that he uses the lower cost but I am not sure about this. thx in advance
Antendren 06-23-07, 02:14 PM	Neither. They pay the Psychic Rogue cost. The base cost to manifest a power is always 2*(power level) - 1. The psion power point cost listed is just doing this calculation for you. So when you want to manifest a power, you use the level you learned the power as (as determined by your Psychic Rogue power list) in the above formula.
InkBlot 06-23-07, 02:30 PM	By "the level you learned the power at" Antendred doesn't mean what level your Psychic Rogue was when he learned the power. He means the level of the power. If you learn a power as a 2nd level power you pay 3 power points to manifest it. For example, Psychic Rogues can learn control object as a 2nd level power. This means that Psychic rogues must pay 3 power points to manifest control object. If a Psion learned control object, he would only have to pay 1 power point, because control object is a 1st level power for psions. There's a table on page 63 of the Expanded Psionic Handbook which shows how much each level power powers costs. InkBlot also typoed his example on how many power points a 2nd level power costs (it's always 3). The psychic rogue, just like every other character, pays that cost to manifest a power of the given level. Their list is just structured so that certain powers show up at different levels. Similar effects show up in the XPH, with Body Adjustment being a decent example. Body Adjustment is a level 3 psion/wilder power, a level 3 psychic rogue power and a level 2 psychic warrior power. Psions, wilders, and psychic rogues pay 5 power points to use it, while psychic warriors pay 3.
