The XPH says that you can learn powers from others like a Wizard can learn from other Wizards spellbooks... Sooo... How is this done? Does it involve mindlink? (How does one go about learning from others minds without the having it psionicly implanted for some massive fee. The books says it can be done, but it doesn't explain HOW)

And how is Researching done? (How does one go about this)

I need some large explainations ^^

Look again. It does say how to learn powers from another manifester. The rules are on page 64.

To sum up: There are four steps to manifesting a power from another's powers known.

*Physically touch a willing psychic.
*After one round, you can see what powers he knows.
*Pick one power, and make a psicraft check DC 15 + power level.
*Make a second psicraft check at the same DC to manifest the power.

You only get one chance to manifest the power. If you don't manifest it within one round, it fades from your mind. You're still limited by your own manifester level and maximum power level.

Researching new powers is also described on page 64. Basically, you meditate in a nice quiet place for a couple weeks, make a psicraft check, and expend some XP.

Don't forget the psychic chirurgery power. It's rather expensive, though.

Also the feat leech power. You can use it to assimilate the Expanded Knowledge feat. It's not permanent, but it lasts longer than a round, so it's good for a bit. Especially Extended. You might even be able to incarnate it, if you try to convince your DM really hard.

Doesn't it say that you can't go over the limit on the number of powers known, even through research? It says its strictly limited or something like that. Which makes sense, because that would be like giving the sorcerer a spellbook.

Yup, research does not allow you to learn more powers than your maximum. It does, however, allow you to learn powers from other discipline lists or from PsyWar/Ardent lists, etc. All in exchange for just a little bit of xp.

Psychic Chirurgery does allow you to exceed your maximum power limit but it is far more expensive.

Do you do it during the level up time? (My DM has us take a week of training to level up) Or do you leave a power known place open for researching?

You can't leave a power-known slot open. The game just doesn't work that way. So you would get the researched power next time you level up. However, you can perform the actual research at any time.

You could do the research for your new power years (in-game) before you gain a new level. Then, when you do finally level, you get the spark of inspiration that pulls your theories together into a practical form, and you can learn your new power.
