I dont have the book, but i'm looking for some basic info on quaintessence.

As i recall, a psionic power can make it, freezes something in time for lack of a better term, and becomes useless if exposed to air. Is it in the SRD? or if not is there any other source i could find the info?

I've gotten to the point where I can't tell a pun from a mis-spelling.

The power is called quintessence. You spelt it quaintessence.

quaint
1. having an old-fashioned attractiveness or charm
2. strange, peculiar, or unusual in an interesting, pleasing, or amusing way
3. skillfully or cleverly made.

All of these definitions would also be good ways to describe the power quintessence. Hence your typo was also a nice pun.

I figured it was probably a misspelling, but I thought it would also make a great pun.

ROFL
Quaint-essence

I'm sorry that is hilarious...

its spelled Quintessence, the fifth element of the european philosphical elements. Also known as Aether. This is in simplest terms what westereners called qi (ki) or internal spiritual energy.

I'm not sure "quintessence" is synonymous with all of those things (or even any of them, really).

Aether, at least, was, at least for a little while, the name for the medium in which matter is suspended.

Quaintessence is halfway between quadressence and quintessence. It's the 4½th element.

Why stop at quaintessence? Changing/removing one letter can make all the difference...

Quartessence - A substance which is always of a volume equal to a quarter gallon.

Quantessence - A substance composed entirely of subatomic particles.

Quirtessence - A substance used to create short riding whips.

Quiltessence - A substance layered between fabric to make an insulated covering.

Quitessence - A substance that indicates when a post should come to an abrupt end (before it gets any worse).

That's... pretty much anything.
