Hi. I was reviewing my Psion powers because I was bored and noticed a possible combination with Share Pain and Share Pain, Forced. I would hope that most people here know the combination of using Share Pain on your Psicrystal with Vigor manifested, but I think you could take this combo even further with Share Pain, Forced and beyond that, Empathic Feedback. Here's what I'm wondering would work.

I'm a 5th level Psion who manifests Vigor on myself for an extra 25 HP. My Psicrystal also gains 25 HP from Vigor. I also manifest Share Pain on my Psicrystal so I take 50% HP damage. While both spells are in effect I encounter a Fighter and manage to land a Share Pain, Forced power on him before he hits. The Fighter makes a Greatsword attack and gets an extremely lucky Critical Hit, dealing 36 damage (2d6 [12 damage rolled] +1.5 Strength [4 Strength] x2). Luckily Share Pain, Forced and Share Pain come into play. While my Psicrystal takes 18 damage from the hit since Share Pain was manifested first, the Fighter and myself each take 9 damage. If Share Pain, Forced had been manifested first, the Fighter would have take 18 damage while my Psicrystal and myself would have taken 9 damage each.

Ah. Ok, that makes sense. Thanks!

I would layer the effects.
Get hit for 100 points of damage.
You share 50% of that through the last spell cast (or the higher level one, dm call) to target 1.
Of the remaining 50 damage that gets through, you split that with the other power onto target 2.

That's just my gut reaction. I'll see if I can look into it more later.

Another ruling that may take precedence is that these two powers do the same thing basically in different strengths.

From a stacking perspective, only one of the two would work, the other suppressed with its duration still ticking until the duration of the higher level power ended.

Specifically:

Same Effect More than Once in Different Strengths: In cases when two or more similar or identical effects are operating in the same area or on the same target, but at different strengths, only the best one applies. If one power or spell is dispelled or its duration runs out, the other power or spell remains in effect (assuming its duration has not yet expired).

Same Effect with Differing Results: The same power or spell can sometimes produce varying effects if applied to the same recipient more than once. The last effect in a series trumps the others. None of the previous spells or powers are actually removed or dispelled, but their effects become irrelevant while the final spell or power in the series lasts.
