| ZocckCastlestorm04-24-07, 05:08 PM | Hi. I have a question: Is it possible for a Psychic Warrior to Expend his Psi Focus to start Deep Impact (Turns Melee Attack into a Melee TOUCH Attack) and drops his target, and starts Cleave/Great Cleave? If so, are the other attacks normal (which I think they are, but I'm not sure) or are they Deep Impact effected as well? Thanks. |

No, all attacks are normal except the one you choose to modify with Deep Impact. It's at the same bonus, yes, but against their normal AC. Similarly, you could drop a foe and choose to Deep Impact the cleave. |
| ZocckCastlestorm04-24-07, 06:22 PM | So, to be perfectly clear; Only Attack per Melee may use Deep Impact. Right? Thanks, TempestStormwind. I was having nightmares of a PC 1/2 Giant PsyWar using Expansion(+ 2 Sizes at 12th Level from Augment), then using Greatsword(was Sized Large), Power attack (All 12th Level = +18 Damage) + Strength,Psionic/Magic Weapon, existing Offencive Precognition(Damage)Bonuses AND Deep Impact to Great Cleave through all my NPC Monsters! It's hard to understand ALL the potential uses/abuses in the first place, nevermind when they just get the Feat(or Power/Spell/Maneuver for that matter)! Thanks, again. |

| Rageheart04-24-07, 07:16 PM | So, to be perfectly clear; Only Attack per Melee may use Deep Impact. Right? Close... Only Attack per Expended Focus may use Deep Impact. Therefore, if I have a High Level Psychic Warrior with a Psicrystal (1 feat) and Psicrystal Containment (another feat) I can have a total of 2 Focii (or Focuseseses for the purists ;) ) and expend them both in a single round of melee to allow 2 of my swings to be Deep Impacts. |
| CrimsonDeath04-24-07, 08:51 PM | If you know Hustle and have Psionic Meditation, could you use Hustle to refocus between your normal attack and the cleave? (Actually... Can you even use Hustle to take a move-equivalent action rather than an ordinary move action?) |
| Lycanthromancer04-24-07, 10:52 PM | Yes. And yes. |
| Bacris04-24-07, 11:04 PM | No and yes. Rules support for the first: CLEAVE [GENERAL] Prerequisites: Str 13, Power Attack. Benefit: If you deal a creature enough damage to make it drop (typically by dropping it to below 0 hit points or killing it), you get an immediate, extra melee attack against another creature within reach. You cannot take a 5-foot step before making this extra attack. The extra attack is with the same weapon and at the same bonus as the attack that dropped the previous creature. You can use this ability once per round. If you can't even take a 5-foot step, which is technically a free/miscellaneous action, how are you allowed to take both a swift AND a move action? A 5 foot step is usually the only action you can take DURING other actions, and you can't even do that with Cleave. Rules support for the 2nd - there's no such thing as a move-equivalent action in 3.5. Just Move Actions - and moving is a Move Action. MOVE ACTIONS With the exception of specific movement-related skills, most move actions don’t require a check. Move The simplest move action is moving your speed. |
| Lycanthromancer04-25-07, 01:49 PM | Maybe. I was in a hurry (or at least that's what I'm going to say about it from now on. :D). |
