Psionx 03-16-07, 04:49 PM	My question is this: If there is a delayed blast fireball seed set to go off in 2 rounds and I don't want it to do damage to the area around it, can I manifest astral construct and create the astral construct as a ball around the seed that encompasses it? That way the construct contains the blast and takes the damage rather than the area around it? Also, if I can do this, can I also manifest energy adaptation fire on it to reduce the damage it takes?

But it would be a lot simpler to say you're manifesting your astral construct on top of the fireball seed instead of surrounding the fireball seed. It should have the same effect. Also keep in mind that "if the damage caused to an interposing barrier shatters or breaks through it, the fireball may continue beyond the barrier if the area permits" (PHB p231). On the second part, no. Energy Adaptation has a range of "personal." You can not manifest it on anyone other than yourself (and your psicrystal, if you have one).
