| stanleyx200205-06-07, 10:19 AM | Alright guys, so I'm making my first psionic character and I'm just curious, is there any way I can become psionically focused quicker than a full round? thx in advance |
| Yanagita Kunio05-06-07, 10:26 AM | Psionic Meditation feat, XPH 50: reduces assumption of focus to a move action. Has prerequisites of WIS 13 and Concentration 7 ranks. |
| AntiDjinn05-06-07, 12:03 PM | At first level the full round limit is pretty much a hard limit. Psionic Meditation allows you to attempt to get focused as a move action, but the prereqs make this unavailable to a lower level character. You need to be at least level 4 to have 7 ranks in Concentration (it is a class skill for all psionic classes), then you need a feat. The psion and psychic warrior can pick up the feat at level 5, everyone else has to wait until level 6. |
| angellis_ater05-06-07, 12:09 PM | High Psionics: Psionic Feats have 2 feats which allow you to meditate faster, but at the expense of power points. |
| Artector05-06-07, 12:38 PM | Also you can use the power Hustle in combination with Psionic Mediation to get focused as a "free" (techinically still a move) action. There's a feat in Secrets of Sarlona that lets you get focused quicker too, can't remeber what it is off the top of my head. |

Ascetic Psion (SoS p. 115) lets you get focused as a standard action, but it's a Monk/Psi feat. |
| Batshido05-06-07, 03:11 PM | At first level the full round limit is pretty much a hard limit. Actually, that's not technically true. You could play a Synad from Cpsi. They can use their Multitask ability to focus as (basically) a free action. It's only 1/day, though, unless you pick up a feat. Plus, it costs a power point. All available at 1st level. ;) |
| CrimsonDeath05-07-07, 06:56 PM | Hustle and the Synad's Multitask are both Swift actions, as I recall. Not exactly "free", but it doesn't use your Standard or Move action. |

Actually, Multitask gives you a free swift action. Then it lets you do things (like Focus) that you can't normally do during one. |
| Wizard Random05-08-07, 06:36 AM | There is a feat from TOB that lets you (3/day) get auto refocused on a melee attack Using Heroic Refocus and Unfettered Heroismn <--??? will allow you to get your focus back every round as a swift action, by spending one of your unlimited supply to do so. Or just use Heroic Refocus by itself Yea the synad Multitask gets it to you ask a swift 1/day or twice if you take the Enchanced racial feat Always Psionic Meditation As mentioned Hustle is useful in conjunction with PM but it eats up your PPs There is a sword in Lost Empires of Faerun that gives you the PM feat for free (and Up the walls) just by having it, very useful if you don't want to waste a feat on PM |
| StrongHead05-08-07, 10:48 AM | Hello, everyone! ^_^ There is a feat from TOB that lets you (3/day) get auto refocused on a melee attack Well, not exactly... :) The feat's benefit is "You can take a swift action to become psionically focused after successfully initiating a martial strike". So, it doesn't work with just any melee attack (it has to be a successfully initiated martial strike), and it's not exactly automatic (because you have to spend your swift action). But yes, a swift action is still quicker than a move or a full-round action... :) |
