Some spacing and capitalization would make your post more readable.

The book is dripping with psionic fluff, and Sarlona and its neighbors are ready for porting into any setting that you want, if you dont want to put it in Ebberon.

As for the crunchy bits, there isn't much, but what is there is very good. There are no manifester level advancing PrCs, but thats alright.

I ordered it, and I love it. Read it cover to cover in 2 days.

As kyeudo said, Secrets of Sarlona is primarily an Eberron source book. The vast majority of the content is fluff specific to the Eberron campaign setting. In this department it is an excellent book: one of the best reads I've had from a gaming book in a long time. In my opinion, this is what a good area source book should read like. If you play Eberron, absolutely buy this book.

The book does have some psionic "crunch", but this is a very small part of the book. While what is there is well done, if you are buying it for the sole purpose of adding new psionic options to your game you might be disappointed.

I would like to add that Secrets of Sarlona, while being an Eberron book, almost presents itself as a seperate campaign setting. The entire continent of Sarlona restructures how you think about the Eberron races. (Note: There is no mention of Warforged despite the presence of Psiforged in the illustrations.)

I love Eberron, but if you don't like airships, warforgred or all of the other "magitech" Secrets of Sarlona is a good alternative to using Eberron without those elements. In fact, it almost makes an excellent standalone psionic setting.

I agree with everyone else, Secrets of Sarlona is a great book. Plenty of fluff (if you like that stuff, like me!), and a few new powers and items. The powers are good, they avoid the Psionic X, I like the psychic whip in particular. It'd take a little work to port it into another setting because of its heavy dependence on Eberron's unique cosmology, but it'd be quite worth it.

All in all, not much in the way of crunch, but what crunch is there is high quality. The fluff is simply great.

Not to sound like a punk, but the psiforged and group are probably adventurers from Khorvaire, Amaril, especially considering the Creation Forges were only there. It's probably a very stupid idea to travel to Sarlona if you're a 'forged though. Very stupid.

Oh, I fully understand why they appear in illustrations. I'm just pointing that out for those who casually flip through the book or looked at the Art Gallery on the web site.

Secrets of Sarlona is good, but it is primarily a DM book. Most of the content should be unknown to characters who don't originate in Sarlona (and even those who do will only be familiar with the area of their origin. The average Riedran does not even suspect the Inspired are anything less than benevolent.

If you are a player and your party is from Khorvaire with plans to run missions in Sarlona, then check with your DM before reading SoS. If you are looking for psionic material to port to another game then don't bother; it is there but not enough to be worth the price and you would have to do lots of reflavoring if you are not using the Dreaming Dark.

Well then, we looked at this from two different angles.

More on topic, this book is more fluff than crunch, but it's great fluff considering Mr. Baker wrote a good majority of this work. It's certainly worth the money if you play in Eberron, but otherwise it can be a difficult choice to buy or not.
