| Norwen07-03-07, 05:09 PM | I'm playing a character and am having trouble getting aroung my stats limitations. The concept for the character was what I call "The mover". A character that revolves around movement, specifically the movement based skills (jump, balance, tumble) and who prides himself on always being in the right place. I wanted this to be a psionic character, and since it's fairly combat oriented, went with Psychic Warrior. Since the skill allocation is crap, I am multiclassing with rogue, which also brings along nice things like sneak attack and boosts to my reflex saves. The problem is that my stats are pretty limiting. They are : S:11 D:16 Co:14 I: 10 W: 13 Ch: 8 These stats (particularly S and I) are limiting my feat choices and I don't quite know where to throw myself. I have Dodge, Speed of thought, Mobility and Up the Walls right now (PsyWar2/Rogue1) and have opted for two handed weapons (MW Scyth ATM) and the use of Force Shield to do decent damage and have a good armor class. I eventually want to get the Elocator PrC, but until I get there, I'd like to actually be able to do something in combat. I have Catfall as my second power, but could change it. I could also swap out Up the walls for something else. I'd thought of maybe taking two weapon fighting, but with a BAB of +1 and no S bonus, I don't know. Weapon finess is also an option, but what to do with my free hand (since I don't get a shield's AC bonus with Force Shield active, right?). So any ideas? |

It'll help me on to-hit rolls and stacks other bonuses. I am still looking for option on which Feats to take. Up the Walls is nice, but doesn't help a lot from a strictly combat point of view. I've looked through Complete Adventurer, Complete Psionics and Complete Warrior and didn't find anthing that sticks out. I think the Complete Champion has a feat that gives extra bonuses to flanking, but I don't have the book. Any ideas? |

You might also consider trading out precog-off for something with more utility power. Maybe Expansion or Skate. You could also go the natural weapon route with Claws of the Beast. You have lots of different options. |

| InkBlot07-05-07, 06:42 PM | You should go with archery. Mobility works best with archery. In Complete Psionics there are several Psychic Warrior powers which help with archery, such as extend range and perfect archery. Also, a suprising amount of psywar powers from the XPH work with ranged weapons, such as strength of my enemy and dissolving weapon. In Complete Warrior there is the feat Zen Archery, which you must take. It lets you use your Wisdom in place of your Dex for ranged attacks. Take Zen Archery, and move your 16 into Wisdom. If you realy realy realy don't want to do archery for some reason, then see if you can get your hands on The Tome Of Battle: The Book Of Nine Swords. The manuevers in there are mostly standard actions, leaving you with your move action for mobility. On top of that, manuevers don't rely too much on high ability scores. There are a handful of manuevers that use a Concentration check, and as a psionic character you can expend focus to take 15 on those. You can get manuevers either by taking the Martial Study feat (which is a fighter bonus feat), or by multiclassing into warblade, swordsage, or crusader (any of them would be good). |
