Strigoi are also known as "moroi" in some parts, especially rural areas.Strigoi are vampiric witches that suck the spiritus vitae, the living force of a person, out of people at night while they slept, and would move on to another child either of the family or from a different family the next night. It preferred to drink from young children/infants because they have more spiritus vitae. Strigori is most likely a woman but there are exceptions when she is a male. One of the ways for ending her powers is to expose her to sunlight. Strigoi rarely speak, but when they do, they speak Common. Combat Charisma Damage (Su): The touch of a strigoi deals 1d8 points of Charisma damage to a living foe. This is a negative energy effect. Psi-Like Abilities: At will-- psionic charm (DC 17), Read Thoughts (DC 15). Manifester level 9th. The save DCs are Charisma-based. Skills: Strigoi have a +2 racial bonus on Listen and Spot checks and a +4 racial bonus on Search checks. A strigoi gains a +4 racial bonus on Hide checks. Owl Form (Su): A strigoi as a standard action that does not provoke attacks of opportunity, can transform into an owl creature known as Strix usually described as a nocturnal bird of ill omen that fed on human flesh and blood, like a vampire. Unlike later vampires, it was not a revenant—a risen corpse—but the product of metamorphosis. While in this form the strigoi becomes corporeal and can feed upon the living. When transformed the strigoi retains its current hit points however its ability scores change to the following: Str 4, Dex 17, Con -, Int 10, Wis 14, Cha 16. A strigoi in its owl form gains weapon finesse as a bonus feat. A strigoi can attack with its talons dealing 1d4 points of damage. With each succesful hit against a living creature, the strigoi heals 1 point of damage. A strigoi in its owl form gains a natural armor of +2, this replaces ots deflection bonus. A strigoi can use strength of my enemy once per day as a psi-like ability. Manifester level 9th. The save DCs are Charisma-based. A Strigoi retains all its abilities while in owl form except as noted here. Incorporeal Traits:A Strigoi is harmed only by other incorporeal creatures, magic weapons, spells, spell-like abilities, and supernatural abilities. It has a 50% chance to ignore any damage from a corporeal source, except for force effects or attacks made with ghost touch weapons. It can pass through solid objects, but not force effects, at will. Its attacks ignore natural armor, armor, and shields, but deflection bonuses and force effects work normally against them. The creature always moves silently and cannot be heard with Listen checks if it doesn’t wish to be. Undead Traits: A Strigoi is immune to mind-affecting effects, poison, sleep, paralysis, stunning, disease, death effects, and any effect that requires a Fortitude save unless it also works on objects or is harmless. It is not subject to critical hits, nonlethal damage, ability damage to its physical ability scores, ability drain, energy drain, fatigue, exhaustion, or death from massive damage. It cannot be raised, and resurrection works only if it is willing. It has darkvision out to 60 feet. Vulnerability to Sunlight (Ex): Strigoi are utterly powerless in natural sunlight (not merely a daylight spell) and flee from it. A strigoi caught in sunlight cannot attack and can take only a single move action or standard action each turn, but not both (nor can it take full-round actions). | AdventChild07-18-07, 12:52 AM | Reserved The Strigoi and Strix are based on the romanian mythology, consider them a cousin of the Moroii (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=779045) |
| AdventChild07-26-07, 12:49 AM | some criticism would be surely appreciated, it doesn't have to be positive, as long as it is constructive. |
| forsaken111107-26-07, 02:26 AM | They look nice. Good flavor, interesting abilities. I might use them in an upcoming psionics-heavy portion of my game. |

That means some people are looking. You're obviously talented, and spent a good deal of time on these. I suppose my message was more along the lines of, just try not to get discouraged. Not everyone has a love of mythology and not everyone who reads a thread leaves a comment. I'm curious, would you mind if someone integrated some of your work in a campaign setting of their own? By posting it here openly you make it essentially open for anyone to use but I consider it polite to ask first. As for your Harlequin class I will give it a read when I get some time today and post my thoughts in that thread. |

Sure go ahead, i always post so if people like it to use then and hopefully get some feedback on how did it work out in game for them. |
