Surging Euphoria and Attack Powers [Archive] - Wizards Community

04-14-07, 02:17 PM Ok, I don't think this has been covered here before. I've been lurking on the Psi boards for a month or so and I haven't seen it come up.

When does the bonus for Surging Euphoria start to take effect? Is it after the Wild Surge enhanced power is manifested, or is it during manifestation.

Basically, do I get to apply the attack bonus to my ranged touch attack roll for Crystal Shard if I use Wild Surge to boost it. I know that subsequent manifestings within the duration of Surging Euphoria would get a bonus, I'm just not sure if the first would.

04-14-07, 07:15 PM I believe its after, since you dont get the euphoria if you are psychicly enervated, which definately happens after the power is manifested.

That's kind of what I thought. The text could definitely be read differently, though.

Starting at 4th level, when a wilder uses her wild surge ability, she gains a +1 morale bonus on attack rolls, damage rolls, and saving throws for a number of rounds equal to the intensity of her wild surge.

It definitely sounds like it triggers upon using the wild surge, which by it's nature has to be during or immediately before the power is used. I think one could definitely make the case for the bonus being applied to attack and damage rolls on the surge augmented power.

Yeah, I get that. I actually agree with you in that it makes much more sense that way.

Is it anywhere in writing, though? I mean, I can't imagine that this has never come up before.
