Still thinking about my idea (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=852707) that Mind Switching with a creature allows you to Mind Seed it no matter its type, I got to something else: you can seed your psicrystal (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/classes/psion.htm#psicrystals).

Mind Switch (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/powers/mindSwitch.htm) with your psicrystal. Now it's in your body, so it's humanoid (if you normally are). You can hit it with Mind Seed (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/powers/mindSeed.htm). Get back in your body and your psicrystal is now a psion (or erudite, if that's your thing).

Besides the nice things that come with being a construct (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/typesSubtypes.htm#constructType)(ageless ness, immunity to so many effects), it has all of its fun psicrystal abilities, like telepathy, its telepathic link with you, and a nice bonus to Intelligence that might make it smarter than you!

Depending on the option for dealing with psicrystal destruction, you might have a powerful psionicist who can return from death on a daily basis.

Despite having its personality replaced by yours, it still gives you a personality bonus, as this is an extraordinary ability of the psicrystal.

More fun: your psicrystal will get its own psicrystal if you had the feat early on in your own career. Neat. Better yet, maybe you took levels in nice prestige class (like Thrallherd (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/prestigeClasses/thrallherd.htm)) your psicrystal can pick up a whole suite of handy abilities.

Actually, your psicrystal, being a construct, is immune to mind-affecting effects and hence immune to both mind switch and mind seed.

The fact that you can manifest personal powers on the psicrystal or share powers with the psicrystal does not negate that fact.

Specifically:
The owner and psicrystal cannot share powers if the powers normally do not affect creatures of the psicrystal's type (construct).

Nothing else in the section on psicrystals even hint that the owner can bypass the psicrystal's immunities.

That being said, you could metamorphosis the psicrystal into a humanoid, and its type will change from construct to humanoid. Then you could do the mind switch and mind seed, but once the metatmorphosis wears off, you would be back in your own body and the psicrystal in its. At the end of the week, the net result is that you are you in your body and the psicrystal is still just a psicrystal (as it is now immune to the effects of mind seed).

To do this successfully, you need True Mind Switch and metamorphosis, and the ability to maintain the metamorphosis for one week. Even then, I doubt if it would work. If you die as the psicrystal, you are dead, period (TMS). If the mind seeded you is killed, you can get another psicrystal, but it is just a psicrystal (PA), instead of your body with the mind of a psicrystal.

Humorous, but seems to me to be ultimately pointless.

Gack, you're right. The only hope is that since immunity operates like Spell Resistance, the psicrystal can voluntarily allow itself to be affected.

That being said, you could metamorphosis the psicrystal into a humanoid, and its type will change from construct to humanoid.
With that, you don't need to switch. Just Mind Seed it as a humanoid. It'll switch back to a construct eventually, but it'll have your personality.

And while it is a construct, the germination period stops as it is now immune to the effect. Only while it is metamorphed will the germination continue. Considering that metamorphosis lasts for about 17 rounds (1.7 minutes) per manifestation for a 17th level character, you would need to manifest the power 5,930 times for the process to complete or about 100 days dedicated to only manifesting metamorphosis.

Then the debate would begin on whether the effect is on or off while the new you is a construct.

Skin of Proteus. You should be able to afford one at that level.

The effect is instantaneous. While germination takes time, this is a process that happens regardless of any changes in conditions except for Protection, another Mind Seed, or other effects such as those listed in the Mind Seed power description. The germination itself isn't a spell-like or supernatural effect, otherwise an Antimagic Field would shut it down.

And immunity would be one example of other effects such as those listed.

That would do it, definitely.

A germinating seed can be removed (prior to germination) only by psychic chirurgery, reality revision, or similarly high-level effects.Immunity isn't a high-level effect similar to psychic chirurgery or reality revision.

And I didn't mention that immunity would remove the effect. Immunity is far better than protection from evil and that turns off the germination while under the effect.
