neanter 05-04-07, 01:25 AM	I can't seem to find much info on background of the synad. is there any? Can one use multitask get get focused? can one stay focused all day? did anyone make a build for such a character? (we don't have much treasure in our world) I'm thinking of wizard1,telepath3,cerebremancer...(with precocious apprentice) thanks, first time playing 3.5 :confused: is there anyway to search the discussions without going through everything?
CrimsonDeath 05-04-07, 04:17 AM	I just now reread the "Multitask" racial ability... and now I'm not really sure what it does. Either it lets you perform any mental action that takes less time than a full round as a swift action, or it grants you an extra swift action in a round. If we go by the first interpretation... then Cerebremancer is a fairly good choice. With your normal actions, you cast a spell; with your Multitask action, manifest a power. It's almost like knowing Schism for free. If we go by the second interpretation... Well, I'm sure CO could break it, but I'm really tired right now.

Paraphrased: Multitask (Su): 1/day, spend 1 power point to gain a swift action to take a purely mental action, such as gain psionic focus or manifest a power (cannot use this ability to manifest an additional power that round). one can use mutlitask to become psionically focused. sure, you can remain focused all day, as per the rules of focus, but most abilities require the focus to be expended to have a use, but if you had the speed of thought feat for example, it can be used for that. it does not grant an extra swift action during the round, as you're still limited to 1 swift action during your turn. and yes, you could theoretically use the ability to manifest a purely mental action with multitask, including shortening the manifestation time of a power that is 1 full round or more to a swift action (swift metaconcert, for example), but you wouldn't be able to manifest another power that round.
neanter 05-05-07, 08:10 AM	I am also wondering if it is worth it to have 13 wis just to get the psionic meditation feat seeing as i'm also not too sure what class i will be going into more deeply later(wiz,psio).

PSICRYSTAL CONTAINMENT [PSIONIC] Your psicrystal has advanced enough that it can hold a psionic focus that you store within it. Prerequisites: Psicrystal Affinity, manifester level 3rd. Benefit: You can spend a full-round action attempting to psionically focus your psicrystal. At any time when you need to expend your psionic focus, you can expend your psicrystal’s psionic focus instead, as long as the crystal is within 5 feet of you. Psionically focusing your psicrystal works just like focusing yourself. The psicrystal cannot focus itself - only the owner can spend the time to focus the crystal.

The psicrystal cannot focus itself - only the owner can spend the time to focus the crystal. yes it's one of my first choice feats. but another reason for the 13 wis would be for metamorphic transfer combined with polymorph(though it will take soo long to get it that i'm wondering if it will still be worth it then).

I want to make clear that the synad originally came from a dragon magazine article, and that they just lumped it into the complete psionics book, like they did with almost 95% of the rest of the book.
