JulesCARV 03-02-07, 01:04 PM	Are there any ways in which manifesting Telempathic Projection is preferable to manifesting Attraction with yourself as the attractive entity? There are only two things I see: Tempathic Projection has medium range rather than short, and it explicitly benefits perform checks, which Attraction may or may not. Other than that, is attraction just massively superior, with more versatility, longer duration, better augment options, etc? I suppose if you're one of those "super diplomats" you might pick up both, but then telempathic projection is just used as a power to stack with attraction.
InkBlot 03-02-07, 02:05 PM	Attraction will make the subject want to follow, attend, or "attain" you. If you want to diplomat a creature into doing something that involves leaving you, then you don't want to manifest attraction. You especialy don't want to manifest attraction on anything big and violent. You might get that nice big +4 to diplomacy, but in the time it takes to make a diplomacy check the monster has already started carrying you off to it's cave. What better way for an ogre to ensure he's always by your side than to lock you up in his nice safe cave? Attraction is great for gaining control over relatively harmless NPCs, and for compelling big mean monsters to stay in one spot. Telempathic Projection gives you the same nice big +4 to diplomacy, but also instantly automatically improves a creature's attitude without need for a check. Telempathic Projection makes a creature your friend and gives you +4 to diplomacy. Attraction makes a creature obsess over something, and can give you a +4 to diplomacy.
