You're all wrong. The metaphysical crux of this issue is the transcendental angst that precedes the inevitable insight. The gist IS the presupposition.

:uh-huh:

uh ... I think it depends on the template ... but maybe that's just me ... :surrender

I'd probably go the template just for the flavour and fun of playing something different and ... "wierd", though ...

Well, since templates and classes do not mix, interact, expand or depend upon one another a debate between the two seems, idano, uninvovled.

Green sausage? You haven't been talking to CMOT Dibbler, have you?

He's still talking, so evidently he hasn't eaten anything from Dibbler, so I guess he's okay.

...This thread has surpassed Pratchett, though. It's about as surreal as The (http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2004/03/24) Adventures (http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2004/04/07) Of (http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2004/11/24) Twisp (http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2005/09/05) & Catsby (http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2006/08/01) by now.

And as a result of degenerating to spam, I'm going to report it.

whats stupid is that an entire book was written with what could have been a few pages of a simple template... but nooooo.

So, you think that psionics -- the whole of psionics, mind you, which is far more than just the psion -- could have been represented in a single template?

Take off your blinders. And your blizzard goggles. And your jet black contact lenses. Open your eyes. There's a lot more to psionics than can be captured in a single template.

In fact, you can actually find out a lot about them for free, since psionics are Open Game content. Go and read the FAQ at the top of the forum for more information.

If you have a specific issue with the book, bring it up now while this thread still has a slight chance of being saved from a lockdown.

...wait, are you talking about the PSIONICS HANDBOOK, or the EXPANDED PSIONICS HANDBOOK? If it's the former, you're right, actually -- the psionic template there made the psion and psychic warrior completely obsolete, and there were no other classes present in the book. This was fixed entirely in 3.5, where they're valuable, versatile, and competitive classes, along with others that are fun and useful in their own right, and an entire psionics system that actually works mechanically.
