There is, of course, Overchannel + Extend Power + temporal acceleration.

Ah.. of course, thanks. It's good to use defensively if you need to get ish goin. But offensively...

While your temporal acceleration is in effect, other creatures are invulnerable to your attacks and powers. This means you cannot target a creature with any attack or power. However, a power you manifest that affects an area and has a duration longer than the remaining duration of your temporal acceleration has its normal effect on creatures in the area once this power ends.

Delay + instantaneous area effect power?? LOL.. best I could come up with. :(

If you want to avoid being shaken when you come out of temporal acceleration, you could time hop.

Of course, that's sort of like shooting yourself in the foot in order to avoid stubbing your toe.

On the other hand, nobody could possibly know that you used time hop. Temporal acceleration has no display, and nobody would actually be around to see the display for time hop (even the "silver energy").

Just thought of something else good for temporal acceleration... mundane tricks (read: mischief). Things like tying a blindfold around a foe's eyes, throwing a sack over their head, or wrapping rope around their legs and tethering them to a fixed object. Heck, if a foe is unfortunate enough to have his mouth open, stuff something in there, like dirt, a rock, an old sock, or quintessence even.

And remember, fallen foes are objects to be moved about. How demoralizing would it be to a foe to have a dead comrade's head suddenly appear impaled on their own drawn sword? Or, have a corpse standing right in front of them (if only for a moment before they collapse once gravity kicks in again)? My guess is... very demoralizing.

It is generally accepted that objects not attended by you are immune to gravity's pull during temporal acceleration (you let go, and they stay put). So, just place objects above foes and wait. Like, say, a corpse (see above). Or remove/destroy an object they are standing on (if any).

These things are not terribly effective all the time, but worth it if only to see their reactions.

The only problem with doing that is you have very little time to do it, remember a round is 6 seconds. So at the higher levels you'll be getting about 30 seconds to act.

I personally throw out constructs. Its a great time to set up battlefield control too, Energy Walls and Walls of Ectoplasm... and then move yourself out of the way.

My Nomad usually used Temporal Acceleration as an "Oh ****" button, like when we got ambushed by a Neothelid. I forget exactly what he did, but it involved manifesting a buff, moving out of the critter's Blindsense range, and then throwing an Energy Bolt in its general direction. (Then the Sorceress dropped an Empowered Maximized Scorching Ray, with three critical hits.)

There's always psionic contingency + temporal acceleration. It's good for defense of course, but it could potentially be offensive, as well. Does the ground under a creature count as an attended object for the purposes of psionic disintegrate + a domed wall of ectoplasm + a strategically placed energy wall?

I was thinking of one the other day though it requires 10 levels in metamind *yuck*. well here it goes:
Start up your Font of Power, then manifest a temproal acceleration. then on your free round manifest temporal reiteration.
I'm pretty sure that would give you unlimtied PP and Unlimted duration temporal acceleration. ( though i havent follwed up to check all the rules yet)

Hm.. I was poring through my Cleric spell list to see if there was a combo that I could wrangle.

SCENARIO
First round of combat and opponent seems strong. Monster has not had action yet..

REAL TIME
- Swift action, manifest Temp Accel

APP TIME
- Swift action, manifest Defensive Precognition (+3 insight AC/Saves)
- Standard action, cast Righteous Might
- Move action, position myself on battlefield

REAL TIME
- Standard action, cast Divine Power

NET GAIN
BAB = fighter
Size changes to Large
+14 to Strength (stacked)
+4 Con
Damage reduction 10/evil or good
+7 to AC
+3 to saves

ADDITIONAL APPARENT ROUND (if available)
Manifest Astral Construct

Hm.. not bad but all self buffing. :D

Buffing the crap out of yourself is one of the best things you can do with this power. Or summoning constructs/area spells, like Lycanthromancer mentioned.

Summoning is cool but there are only a handful continuous damaging area spells/powers.

Wall type spells are situational (moreso than damaging ones anyway).

Do you think one can cast an AntiMagic Field spell during Temporal Accel?

You can, but it'll knock you back into normal time.

Oh.. and do paintings done by Wayne Reynolds supersede rules?

According to his depiction, I should be able to use a sword and stab someone. :P

I was thinking of dumping it on the bad guys but just had a look and it's centered on 'you'. Damnit.

Center it on my psicrystal? hahah

Another good thing is using it with True Metabolism to regain a few rounds of hp worth while you buff up again.

TA is more than good for buffing, it is mandatory for buffing. When you have pp to spare, never waste a standard action on a buff again. You can have all your buffs active within a swift action of apparent time.

Offensively you can:
*manifest Astral Construct
*Set up the psionic gas chamber (search it for details), includes:
- Sonic Energy Wall focused inwards
- Ectoplasmic Shambler in the middle of it
- Wall of Ectoplasm Hemisphere around it all as a lid
= Target is trapped with no save and has an AC waiting for him when/if he escapes.

You can do one chamber + Construct (4 powers) in a 17 pp extended TA. Use actions/round increasers like Choker quickness, fission etc. to also buff meanwhile. Or simply buff first and do the offensive stuff in your next TA.

Also, for wilders, TA is a great trick since surging is less risky inside a TA than out in the open.

Center it on my psicrystal? hahah

You'd have to set the psicrystal in place yourself, though, since the shared temporal acceleration will drop off it once it moves away from you.

Mind you, the psicrystal will be a motionless lump of rock until you dismiss the field, but it's probably best if the psicrystal remains less conspicuous while in the midst of your enemies. It could backfire a bit if an enemy tank picked it up and charged into melee.
