Whats the difference between Hidden Talent and Wild Talent? I mean, what situation is each used for?

the only difference would be that you can only take hidden talent at lvl 1 and you get one power alond with the energy pool. SO why would you want wild talent if youve got hidden talent there?

this is probably all very confusing to you all, basicly im asking because im starting a campaign where my character, a drow, has a great deal of inner potential. All of his abilities spring from within himself. SO hes starting as a Warlock, but will multiclass into a soulknife (bizzare combination, i know, i thought it would be interesting to see how it turns out). And i want him to only have unlocked his arcane abilites for right now, but be able to have his psionic powers FULLY awakened later (they are dormant right now and can only be used in desperate times, as in, they have only been used in his backstory).

So i want to know which to use for him.

Please help, thank you! ^_^

Ever read the XPH?

It introduces Hidden Talent as a replacement for Wild Talent in high-psionics games.

Thus, in Athas (or similar high-psionics environments), soulknives would gain Hidden Talent rather than Wild Talent (since the latter was replaced with the former).

They are NOT intended to be used in the same game together.

Yeah, i have the XPH right here, it lists both of them in there. But i didnt know that Hidden Talent was to replace wild talent. Its kinda confusing since theyre both in teh same book ^_^; thanks though! was a big help that i definatly needed.

The fact that Hidden Talent's not in the feats section, but rather in the campaigns section, with a small paragraph that says it replaces Wild Talent in such a game, didn't tip you off?

Id...rather not talk about that...you see im actually common-sense-blind and didnt look on the bottom of the page in a section not having direct relation to feats...its a grave dissability thats passed on the Y chromasome of my family...i hope i never have a son :weep:

You'd be surprised how many people suffer from something similar, especially on the internet (which is not, I contend, a truck, but a series of tubes).

Tubes make up the information highway? I disagree. Highways are built with asphalt, asphalt for trucks. I'll get a quote from the creator of the interweb, Mr. Gore, later.

(The picture was taken outside of Botcon in Providence, Rhode Island. Sadly, I am not there. I am, however, jetting up to Gatlinburg tomorrow, so I'll see y'all when I get back!)
