| OM_The_Tortoise08-05-07, 02:59 AM | Hi all, I'm about to start playing the erudite (from Complete Psionics), and it appears there are some points left unclear in the class description, so I was hoping I could get some help here: 1. What are the Erudite's class skills? 2. When learning a new power that is not one of the 2 free powers he learns every level, they write you have to pay 20 XP per erudite level. I'm assuming it's supposed to be per POWER level? Also, it's unclear if there's any difference between discipline powers and regular psion powers in this regard. 3. When they talk about unique powers per day - that's just powers from discipline lists, right? Other powers can be cast normally, right? Someone probably asked these questions at some point, so there might be some older thread containing some of the answers. Links or any other information about these issues would be very appreciated. |

All of this is right in the book. 1) They're a psion. Psion's class skills. No Discipline class feature, though, so none of the special skills. 2) Should be, but isn't. Welcome to the GLORIOUS world of Complete Psionic editing, which is the technical writer's equivalent of nihilism. 3) Nope. That means "unique powers" -- as in, if you manifest powers A, A, A, B, A, and C, you've used 3 unique powers for the day. See the FAQ at the top of the forum. |
| runestar08-05-07, 03:07 AM | 1) I assume they are the same as the psion. 2) 20xp for each erudite lv you possess. Thus, if a lv20 erudite wishes to learn a 1st lv power, he has to pay 400xp. 3) It means the total number of different powers you can cast each day, including all powers you know. Thus, even if an erudite knew 10 different powers at 1st lv, he can still only choose 1 to cast each day, regardless of what those powers are. |
