I have a few questions about the thri-keen. Fist, where the bloody hell do I find the powers Know Direction and Psionic Displacement? I looked all though the XPH and could not find them. Second, would a thri-keen qualify for the class Elocater because of it's psi-like abilities. I remember that CArc said that spell-like abilities could count as casting a certain spell. The class prerequisite is to manifest first level spells, witch the thri-keen does, as a psi-like ability. Does it make since that a Thri-keen class x/1 could qualify if class x gives +1 to BaB?

The thri-kreen's psilike abilities were an error. They were corrected in the XPH Errata file. They're supposed to be know direction and location and concealing amorpha.

Wow, thanks a lot. That sure explains a lot. Any ideas on my other question?

Complete Psionics has a similar entry about using psi-like abilities to qualify for prestige classes.
Characters or creatures that use psi-like abilities never learn the intracacies of mental training necessary for advanced manifesting. Therefore, requirements based on levels of manifester (for example, "must be able to manifest 3rd-level powers") cannot be met by psi-like abilities, not even psi-like abilities that allow a character to use a specific psionic power of 3rd level or higher.
So that's a no.

Well, thanks once again. I actually took a second look and he would not qualify because of skill ranks anyway.

Talking about Thri-Keen questions, can they wear two sets of magic gauntlets and get the benefits of both?

No, extra arms do not grant you extra magic item slots.

I am making a new character starting with an ECL of 3. I want a fun and playable character that can hold his own in a low magic, high psychic campaign. The other people are a scout/ranger, druid, telepath, psychic warrior. I am looking at being a thrikreen and going for weapon mastery.

1) I know that you cant be thrikreen at level three, but my DM is letting me start with only one level in thrikreen and the other two as level adjustment, and next level I have to talk the other level of thrikreen.

2) I have never played a character that uses two weapons or gets multiple attacks so I am not sure how this works, but if I am a ranger the Multiweapon Fighting replaces the Two Weapon Fighting. The Multiweapon feats require a higher base attack then the Two weapon fighting, so how would it work? Ranger gets Improved Two Weapon at level 6 but Improved Multiweapon needs base attack + 9, so would you get the Feat and just not be able to use it or would I get it early?
“A 6th-level ranger who has chosen the two-weapon combat style is treated as having Improved Two-Weapon Fighting, even if he does not have the prerequisites for it, but only when he is wearing light or no armor.”
And
“This feat replaces the Improved Two-Weapon Fighting feat for creatures with more than two arms.”

3) What class should he be? Would it be better to go with the ranger and (maybe) get the multiweapon feats sooner or would it be better to go with a fighter to get the weapon specialization and a lot of other feats? Or I could go as a Psychic Warrior? What prestige classes would help to make him better with 4 swords, or should he just be straight ranger or fighter?

3) Looking at the weapons I was going to go with short sword in order to only have -2 to hit from multiweapons. My thought is that -2 to hit and d6 damage is better then -4 to hit and 1d8 damage because I can get power attack so if I want to do more damage my short swords could be – 4 to hit and d6+2. Any thoughts on weapon choice?

4) What feats would people go with? I know that I will want the Multiweapon feats and things like power attack, weapon specialization and (if it makes all my weapons better, psychic weapon)

I know this is a lot of things, but any input will help.

you might not want to mix shortswords and power attack, as PA won't work on light weapons. What you could do is take Swordsage (ToB) to get the Shadow Blade feat. Dex to damage x4 weapons would hurt. If you really want to power attack and make use of your 4 arms, the only weapons i know that would qualify for both SB and PA are spiked chains and unarmed strikes (and possibly the warbringer's rod from CM). Psionic weapon probably won't help much, as this only works for a single attack

For PrCs, you could look into the dervish, warmind (should be easy to qualify), slayer, or bloodclaw master.

Complete Psionics - Page 149-150 .. Thri-kreen Racial Class ...
It'll let you "ease into" the Thri-kreen race ..
AT ECL 3 ..
You'd have:

2 Racial Hit Dice.
1 Class Level
Natural Armor +2

You would not have:
Chameleon, Metaphysical Claw, Poison, +4 Dex, Greater Concealing Amorpha

It's handy ...
I'm using it right now in my own game ... works good.

2) I have never played a character that uses two weapons or gets multiple attacks so I am not sure how this works, but if I am a ranger the Multiweapon Fighting replaces the Two Weapon Fighting. Techinically, I don't think a Thri-kreen Ranger would get the Multi-weapon feat .. he'd get Two-weapon fighting feat as per Ranger.
Thri-kreen doesn't "Automatically swap" that feat, it just gives you access to it (ie you can take it as a feat pick).
Talk to your DM, That being said, I don't think it's a bad idea to allow the Ranger abilities to kick in and give Multiweapon fighting to you ...
If so - ignore the pre-reqs .. the Ranger Class abilities "override" it ..

3) What class should he be? Depends on what you want to be ... but Ranger going into Tempest maybe a good idea ...
... Monk might be another neat idea ...
.. or Druid - and buff up your own natural attacks ...

3) Looking at the weapons I was going to go with short sword in order to only have -2 to hit from multiweapons. My character is currently using: Long Spear + Light Mace + Shield .. :D
It's all a matter of preference ... but my recommendation is consider using the same weapon .. that way you can take things like Weapon Focus once and be done with it.
If you use Weapon Groups ... then keep within a single group ...

4 short swords ... or heck - 4 Kukris would be fun!!

4) What feats would people go with? I know that I will want the Multiweapon feats and things like power attack, weapon specialization and (if it makes all my weapons better, psychic weapon)

Don't foget you get the bite attack as a secondary attack (at -5) ... multiattack would reduce it to -2 ... but probably not worth it too much ...

sorry - not many other suggestions ... depends on what you end up wanting to do ...

Here's what I got when I made a multiweapon-fighting thri-kreen. It gets Str, Int, and Dex to damage and 8d6 sneak attack/sudden strike. Also, the maneuvers help you get more flanking opportunities and movement followed by full attacks. Hopefully it will be of some help.

Multiclass monk and rogue, and use your natural attack routine + flurry of blows + sneak attack + Psionic Fist. If you decide to go in as a low-level thri-kreen, take out all of the psi-like abilities, as well as the LA, and just stick with your racial hit dice.
