Can I use time hop to send a dragon's head into the future 6 seconds(1 round)?
It seems that if the head is too heavy (300 lbs max) the brain wouldn't be?

Uh no.... it's an all or nothing. you cannot Time hop parts of a creature's body.

Different power: Decerebrate (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/powers/decerebrate.htm) (Psion/wilder 7)

Decerebrate, baleful teleport, dissipating touch, and dimension twister all do the "teleport away body parts" trick.

Absolutely, but the rest of the body is going with it.

Why are you asking about weight? Weight has absolutely noting to do with time hopping a creature. Target: One medium or smaller creature. You only worry about weight if you are hopping an object. Parts of creatues are not creatures themselves and are thus invalid targets.

In short, in case it hasn't become clear to you: No.

Although an interesting question comes about from this:
Can you Time hop a Symbiote? (such as from Ebberon)

Shouldn't be any more problematic than Time-Hopping an attended item.

As long as it has a creature write-up then it is a creature. You would need some way to target it though. A psionic entity, such as they type detailed under Host Feats is not something you could shoot at (though you can steal them temporarily with Feat Leech because those feats are also psionic feats). A stirge has a creature entry in the MM, an attached stirge is still a separate creature. Most grafts are written up as items (even if they are alive) so they would be targeted as attended items.

I would think it is a bit like disarm in this way. Body parts - except I suppose protheses - are not affected, but it might be handy to time hop an mage's component pouch or a cleric's holy symbol.

Alternatively, just try to send the entire creature :)

The thing is, there's a subtle difference between a symbiote and a graft. A symbiote is a separate creature that, if it really wanted to, could simply crawl off on its own, with little detrimental effect on the character who hosted it.

Would anybody like to see decerebrate as an augment to time hop? I know time hop is insanely useful already, but would it really be overpowered?

I think it would make time hop too much of a must-have. Also, if you were going to do it then it should be more like a weak baleful teleport than decerebrate.

could you time hop a wizards components pouch so as to render him useless?

Actually, you might be able to, as the power specifies an object as the target, and not an unattended object.

Although, I'm not sure how technical the deffinition of "object" is. If the component pouch contains components, does it still count as one object? Do the components go with? All in all, I'd be inclined to say they do.

If you time hopped away a wizard's component pouch and the components remained behind, the world would explode, because a component pouch seems to have an infinite amount of material in it.

It seems that if the head is too heavy (300 lbs max) the brain wouldn't be?It's already been answered, but I wanted to add that even if a creature's brain was a valid target, you'd have to have line of effect to it which would make it pretty useless...
