08-29-07, 07:34 AM Either works. Since a monk can treat their unarmed strike as a weapon whenever they wish to, they can use Dissolving Weapon. Dissolving Touch, on the other hand, lets you make touch attacks against the dragons of this world as well as choosing to make normal attacks. The flexibility is valuable.

He's correct, you double the weapon damage if you score a critical hit on a normal attack. If you're only delivering a spell, you get to roll vs touch AC instead and you double the spell damage on a critical. To allow you to double both would be a bit silly.

It's Duskblades who would really break the ability to multiply spell damage when it's delivered through a weapon attack. (Imagine a Duskblade with a Keen Falchion delivering a Vampiric Touch through a Full Attack Arcane Channeling. Or maybe give him a scythe.)
