| EonEdge10-30-07, 10:52 PM | I want to turn halflings into psicrystals! Permanetly! so does anyone know how to do this? They are psionic haflings(from having class levels in psionic classes). Add all that apply. Look up the total on the next table. Same kingdom (animal, vegetable, mineral) +5 Same class (mammals, fungi, metals, etc.) +2 Same size +2 Related (twig is to tree, wolf fur is to wolf, etc.) +2 Same or lower Intelligence +2 Duration Factor Duration Example 0 20 minutes Pebble to human 2 1 hour Marionette to human 4 3 hours Human to marionette 5 12 hours Lizard to manticore 6 2 days Sheep to wool coat 7 1 week Shrew to manticore 9+ Permanent Manticore to shrew the only thing i got so far is polymorph any object, reduce hafling to tiny for same size +2 Psicrystal has lower intellegence +2 both are psionic subtype +2 still need 3 more... could you do it with warforged? reduce to tiny +2 Psicrystal has lower int +2 both constructs +5 i don't play spellcasters so i'm not sure whether or not that will work. Also i know that this may be the wrong place but here is what I wish to accomplish: I want to take 9 of my believers from my thrallherd (who are all 1st level manifesters and make them into an object that is still a manifester so i can "wear them" (my thoughts were gems or psicrystals in a necklace), then i can cast metaconcert and use them. any thoughts on how to accomplish this?[/QUOTE] |
| CrimsonDeath10-31-07, 02:39 AM | Doesn't PAO give the target the Intelligence score of its new form? And the default Psicrystal (without a master) has an Intelligence of 6. I hope those Believers aren't Psions... |
| Shasf10-31-07, 06:13 AM | Cast/Use Polymorph Any Object twice, since then they would be in the same kingdom (mineral), same class (gem), same size, related, and have the same or lower Intscore.. Same kingdom (animal, vegetable, mineral) +5 Same class (mammals, fungi, metals, etc.) +2 Same size +2 Related (twig is to tree, wolf fur is to wolf, etc.) +2 Same or lower Intelligence +2 --------------------------------- Total: +13, it's permanent |
| EonEdge10-31-07, 07:37 AM | hmmm i was hoping for psions but psychic warriors and wilders are fine too, or ardents and divine minds(though off hand i don't know thier manifesting dependent ability). PAO twice... never thought of that. That means i could use anything, and not need a way to reduce them... that will make things easier, though more expensive i think. 6k each one, or 54k total.... versus 350 for a manifester lvl 7 tatoo and 3k for the scroll total per creature 3350, or grand total 30150. I need to find a cheaper way |

| crizh11-01-07, 02:37 PM | Psi-crystals are constructs. They cannot participate in a Metaconcert. This is very similar to the other thread about Metamorphing into objects. Do you become an object? Do you gain an objects immunities? Are you treated like an Intelligent Magic Item? If so do you gain the Construct type? If so haven't we just broken Metamorphosis? How about this? You create ten Psionic rings. Nine slaves and one master. They generate a continuous Transdimensional Metaconcert between the 10 wearers with the master ring as the director. You ensure the 9 slaves never need to breathe, eat, drink or sleep. You stick them into a portable hole and close it up. For further amusement you give the portable hole to your Psicrystal who uses a Skin of Proteus to Metamorph into a Mithril Chain Shirt which you then don. That probably needs some more polish to close off the loopholes I haven't spotted yet... Or, you get into the Portable Hole with the others and your Wizard buddy wears the Mithril Shirt and you use Transdimensional Power to blast away from almost complete safety.. |
| EonEdge11-01-07, 11:58 PM | good point about psicrystals not being able to participate in a metaconcert. for just one metaconcert ring you're looking at 180k the nine slaves would probably be half that, i really don't have that kind of investment. i'm thinking that a binding gem(custom item that allows you to cast binding once a week on a 1 hd creature and supply the container at the time of binding) only costs about 31k( 50 * 500 = 25000 for opals, 8 x 15 x 1800 = (21600/5)/7 = 6171gp 4sp 3cp for a total of 31171gp 4sp 3cp). It will take 9 weeks to gather my 9 ardents into my gems(and still need to purchase 4500gp of gems) but then i will still be able to use it to bind any other 1 hd creature(yay woo hoo!) |
| crizh11-02-07, 05:54 AM | I was kinda joking about the ten rings. Uhh 9 rings and one to rule them all etc... In reality you only need one and you can dial the cost down to 90k by making it use activated. If your DM is willing to allow the class and skill limitations you could drag it down to about 40k. Better yet have a disposable Thrall make it for you. That reduces the cost by two thirds and he can pay the xp's for you. |
| EonEdge11-02-07, 07:31 AM | I was kinda joking about the ten rings. Uhh 9 rings and one to rule them all etc... i thought you meant it like a half serious joke, if you had said and give them to 9 humans i would have definately know you were joking... i think. anyways i don't have "disposable thralls." My character concept is that my thrall(and my thrall at 15th) are triplets(this was approved by the DM and he lets me create the characters). |
| EonEdge11-08-07, 12:12 AM | Psi-crystals are constructs. They cannot participate in a Metaconcert. except can't a psicrystal lower it's immunity to mind affecting? A creature can voluntarily forego a saving throw and willingly accept a spell’s result. Even a character with a special resistance to magic(for example, an elf's resistance to sleep effects) can suppress this quality. Immunity to magic sleep effects so even if a creature is immune to an effect they can lower thier resistance to it if they choose(or are commanded) to do so. even a construct, right? |
